Landlady kills Pregnant Tenant over N 3,000!

Landlady, Mrs Theresa Ally and her daughter, Mercy, are now cooling off in police cell, allegedly clubbing their pregnant tenant to death in Obudu, Cross River State.
Daily Sun gathered that the tenant, Mrs Alice Abuh was killed as a result of squabbles over a guit notice and unpaid N3,000 water bill.

Trouble started when Mrs Ally returned from a Holy Communion Mass at St. Charles Catholic Church, Obudu, at about 7a.m. on the fateful day and attempted to compel the deceased and her family to pay their outstanding water bill before vacating their two-bedroom apartment that morning.
According to an eye witness, Mr Edward Atemgweye, the irate landlady, who returned from the morning mass, allegedly vowed not to accommodate Mcfrank Abuh, the deceased’s husband and his family beyond 6pm, prompting them to move out abruptly.
His words: "Mcfrank and his family were already packing out to their uncompleted building because the pressure became too much on them to vacate the house. While Mcfrank was trying to tidy up the new house, Alice went to remove some of their property, when the landlady and her daughter, held her to pay the N3000".

In the ensuing melee, Atemgweye said, "I tried to separate them, but Theresa and her daughter said Alice must pay the money, or something would happen. As Alice attempted to walk out of the house, Mercy suddenly clubed her head with a pestle".

He revealed that his attempt to stop the landlady from fighting the deceased failed. "Even when I was shouting, Madam (Theresa) don’t fight, remember that you have just received the Holy communion, she refused to listen to me", he said.
