30 Days Premiere in Lagos

It's on the 29th of June at the Expo centre in VI. I've seen fliers and i even saw some full page ads in the paper. Tickets 15000 and 25000 Naira only.

Will i be going? Hell no, I love Pompom and all, but there's no way i'm paying 15k to see any movie premiere, ho ha!

Moviewiz, Funmibaby una dey go?

I was just going to ask the same question. Maybe that Pompom's new name lol.

What's 15k in pounds? £65?...erm okay...obviously not an all-comers affairs. I am happy for them though.

Okay! So, N15000 is about $128 and N25000 is about $213.....yea.....thats a lorra money! for a movie premiere! ...but who knows, maybe they are adding to it a free 5 course dinner, valet parking, an after parry, etc....

good luck ms Poms!

Why are you guys talking like this? This is Ego Boyo organising the premiere. She has her circle. IT is peanuts to the circle she's interested in. It makes business sense for them to recoup as much of the investment as they can at the premiere, before pirates and the borrow me crowd cut their returns. Abeg...

I concur, AreaFada. Heck, that might be the price for regular folks but the other people who want to sit right up front might have to put up a little more, who sabi? It's been a long time coming and I hope the interest is still there but I am sure it will be the affair to be seen at.

i'm sorry i don't agree. $128 dollars for a movie? sheesh! most people are gonna be going for free anyways, that's what always happens, most of ego boyo's peeps will be going for free. so paparazzi would take their pics and put it in the mags.......publicity! this is lagos oh, anybody who's anybody is not paying anything for anything. lol.

methinks, they're doing it for hype but there's nothing that says the movie can't be N3000. at least that's double a regular cinema fee. or ok, why don't we double that and say N6000, that's quadruple a regular cinema fee. but N15000??? N25000???

I am not in Lagos, so I can't contest with anyone who may have a better feel of the current Lagos high society crowd, but I do remember Nnaji saying in an interview with me that they made all their money and much more back at the premiere of Ego Boyo's Keeping Faith. That same crowd is still reachable by her. Even folks who appear to be coming "free" often end up writing fatter checks to cover the gate and more. One of them can easily write of the entire budget sef. That aside, the Exec Producers have their own crowd, same as Mildred Okwo. We're not dealing with nobodies here. It is an exclusive premiere, period, not for the 3000/6000 Naira crowd. Those ones can by the VCD. Money pass money o, people. Make una no underestimate Ego Boyo and her husband's crowd o...

I'm just sayin' na wa for the tension that may or may not be in that theater on the day of the premiere since they was supposedly a bitter falling out between the star of the movie and the director/her former manager.

Well, I hope everyone will have their poker faces full on and not air any side business there, this is a big feat for Poms and Ms. Boyo - inspite of side swipes, they've made it happen in what seems to promise to be a major to do.

Kudos, ladies!!! Make dat cheddah!
