Now as for the highlighted part; it's do to the failure of the state gov. to tackle the State's transportation situation properly that the Fed. government has decided to step in and partner up with the stat gov. to get this situation under control and the ball moving more quickly on the projects in which need to be done. It's been due to LASTMA's total failure to handle its duties properly that it was eliminated by the government when it decided to step in and play a more direct role in whipping Lagos into shape, by 2007.

Expect to see a rapid change in the amount of road construction going on all around Lagos this year.. But it wont be just on the roads that such massive showing of works is expected to preside, in that increased, federal aided, development is also expect to solidly hit the schools, hospitals, ports and many other entities in the Mega Metropolis. The city will be turned into like one big construction site this year. But hey, talk is cheap. Let's wait and see what happens.
