Perming? How about weaving/braiding? Their reason here was/is to encourage concentration on education and eliminate attractiveness to an extent. But then I find some of the girls struggling to grow it back after they leave highschool. They’ll apply every chemical in their reach, some of which help damage their scalp. I later realized the rule wasn't implemented in private and federal schools though.
