Perming? How about weaving/braiding? Their reason here was/is to encourage concentration on education and eliminate attractiveness to an extent. But then I find some of the girls struggling to grow it back after they leave highschool. They’ll apply every chemical in their reach, some of which help damage their scalp. @highlighted. Yes that was the reason to. I forgot to mention. But this cannot be compared to what others are doing to their kids in the name of beliefs. To me, it is really about
EDUCATION. If these people knew the effects of what they are actually doing to their children they will think twice. But as usual, people see it as part of their beliefs and something they ancestors have been practicing for years. But yet still, some of them do not survive this and die. Some of the girls are also known to still have kids out of wedlock anyway..
