I think there is a difference between educating your kids, and them having to face situations in school, outside without their parents where some sicko forces himself on a young girl. Unfortunately, in many African countries, the woman will be the one to blame, and the law infrastructrue that is in place right now is too full of crooks.

Like mimi said, if you live in the west as a parent, or even as an adult, go to the police station and find out the registered sex offenders in your neighborhood...You can even find out this information online. Be careful of who your children have play dates with, who is with them on the playground, that sort of thing....the world is not the same like when many of us grew up! I wish this sort of proactive services were available in developing countries too where soooo many crimes go unreported and unpunished...sha, God dey!
