Just a little inspiration

It’s hard to stay focused sometimes. Life moves along at breakneck speed for most of us, and it’s not uncommon to lose one’s way in the din or to begin to slowly downsize our expectations. It doesn’t start out that way, though. In the spring of our lives we’re full of wit and vitality, ready to take on the world. There is nothing that can curb our youthful exuberance. We are fully involved in the dance of life: chasing our dreams, building our rainbows and conquering insurmountable odds — all before lunch.

But slowly, and surely, doubt creeps in, criticism browbeats our self-esteem and we begin to scale back our dreams. Failure pops up on the radar once or twice and before we realize it, we’re mainlining negativity 24/7 like it’s mother’s milk, which it ain’t; but we don’t realize we’re ingesting poison because we become as accustomed to bitterness as a baby suckling its mother’s breast savors the sweetness. Our universe, instead of getting bigger and more audacious, shrinks to a minuscule fleck of something barely recognizable as living a real life.

Most of us don’t start out to live pseudo lives. We really intend to accomplish great things, but oftentimes, we get waylaid on the way up the mountain, fall into a crevasse and are never heard from again. And that’s not only a crying shame; it’s a waste of good material. It’s the death of hope and possibility, the very attributes we possessed in spades so long ago. Or maybe it was last week. But really, what actually changed from the start of the journey to the present day? Don’t you still have the same qualities that you were convinced would carry you to the top of the mountain?

There is only one way to answer that question. Immediate action. Get off the fence, off your beanbag, out of the office, off the cell phone and into the life you planned for yourself eons ago. It’s still waiting patiently for you to come and claim it. Peace.

And in this judgement there is no partiality.

No more internal power struggle;
We come together to overcome the little trouble.

Mash it up-a in-a Zimbabwe (Zimbabwe);
Africans a-liberate (Zimbabwe), yeah.
