I think that the fear is because Nigerians are formidable opponents on all levels when it comes to white people British, American or otherwise. Not to really compare but that is why Nigerians can manuever in white circles so well.

It's like the tale of the rabbit that wanted to ride the alligators back to cross the river. He's still an alligator and a rabbit is still a juicy rabbit.
