Well, what you wrote up there is quarter truth. Here are the players who play in the EPL and were released during the FIFA friendly window:

Julius Aghaowa- Wigan/Nigeria
John Mikel Obi- Chelsea/Nigeria
Solomon Kalou- Chelsea/Cote de voire
Didier Drogba- Chelsea/Cote de voire

Now, those are the players I can remember off head for now. Nigeria lost the game because our players were not serious. We would have at least tied Ghana in that match!
