Some suggestions for the trade.
Night scenes: Sometimes it is quite impossible to see the action because the film is way, way too dark.
Other cultures: Nigeria is blessed with lots of different cultures/dialects. Let us show case these other cultures in our English speaking homvies.
Let us see more Nigeria and less foreign (Americana or otherwise): Let us use more Naija names, naija culture, naija music, naija folks speaking proper english with clear, crisp and understandable naija accent. Save the foreign fake accent for those who supposedly just came back from abroad if at all necessary. Not all nigerians abroad lose their accents.
The sound: We need to be able to hear what the actors are saying and not have the music drown them out. The background music should be low and add to the scene not distract. It is best to cut it out completely than use too much.
End the stories properly: Don't write the endings or give abrupt endings or endings that don't make sense.
Don't drag out scene or the intro to the main story: as mentioned before the stories can be told in less time. When dragging out scenes, you lose you audience.
Actors: Use people that are real actors, actors with the IT quality, not everyone off the streets, just came from abroad or is a friend is a good actor.
Lose the night cap and housecoat: I personally don't know any naija person who uses a night cap or any who wears a housecoat to bed. They can go to bed in a good ole baggy t-shirt.
