Well it will depend on who is in the directing seat don't you think? A knowledgeable director would take the facts of the story into consideration in order to use the appropriate props other wise its really not an authentic movie.
I know Nollywood is well guilty of not keeping to the facts of the stories it portrays. I've seen house-girls with well manicured nails and well groomed hair styles which clash so obviously with the social situations of the character they are playing, but I've also seen a lot of the traditional movies use props and costumes very well.
My hope is that some of the producers, actors, directors etc in Nollywood spend a little time on sites like this, it could make a lot of difference.
