The only real truth is NONE OF US KNOWS THE FUTURE!!
If we did, we would concentrate on winning today's Mega Millions (which is over 145 million today)... So all these proclamations of how Obama will not win and cannot beat McCain as as silly as the proclamations that America was not ready for a female or black candidate. This present race has debunked that idea.
Another truth? Times change!! We can never predict it and sometimes we can't see it, but things do in fact change. To constantly use the past to predict future events is myopic at best (please note I said "constantly"). So I also do not subscribe to the past 20 years arguments. Why go back just 20 years? Go back 30, 50, 150, when Republicans were the liberal party. Lincoln was a republican.
Also if you are going to the past of a gage, use all the events of the past. Also remember how Bill Clinton a non-veteran, scandal ridden, a one time failed Governor of Arkansas, had no shot to beat an incumbent, ex-military, war winning, ex-CIA chief, ex-Vice President in George Bush Sr. One can also say that Rev Wright is Obama's Jennifer Flowers.
From a personally standpoint, I am a little tired of hearing sweeping proclamations. We have heard too many in the past 8 years. All, turned out wrong.
However, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, thoughts and presidential choices and to express them in the manner they choose.

@highlighted...exactly...Obama this and that is also tiring...goes both ways...we may not know the future but we are entitled to predict it as we ALL do on other issues based on the past...wrong or right...eventually, time will tell...
