All that fake accent crap takes away from the character, instead of focusing on the acting...I am caught up in trying to interpret what they are saying.

BBfly, you hit the nail on the head right there. There's no need to add anything else!
I mean, I don't wanna brag but, I do have a few friends in Hollywood. In Hollywood, nobody can ask you to fake your accent, unless you're in character and needed to fake the accent to portray that xtre. The worst they could do is put you on an accent removal program so you can learn how to accentuate and speak a little more clearly.
After all, one of the most popular TV actors in America is James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano), but he does have a very thick Italian accent. Doesn't he?Once people can understand you, case closed! Contrary to what many Africans, especially Nigerians, think an accent is not a bad thing. It is part of who you are....it's your identity. And the saddest part is that it's only Africans that tend to be ashamed of their accent. I am yet to see an Asian that wants to fake his accent.
And by the way, I am a public speaker myself even though I've got one of the thickest Igbo accent in the world. But that has never affected me or make me to feel inadequate in any way, shape or form. As long as I know my stuff, I can stand there and speak to the President of the United States.

By the action of the colonization of Africa by the West, it (the West) should be prosecuted for the rape of a minor. It is not for nothing that the phenomenon (colonization) is shamelessly referred to as 'penetration'
For posterity, the ninteenth century will be the period in which Europe was gripped by a wave of lust. It became a competition to see who could penetrate the farthest. Who cares if the victim brutally robbed of her virginity remained marked for the rest of her life?
