Dizzle, abeg, are you sure what your talking about. It was in Darkness of Sorrow that Nadia ( Kayla) met Van Vicker while she almost fell off the ledge with her brother. It was also in that movie that her fiance (not Van Vicker but some other dark skinned guy - his name eludes me at this moment) met her at the pool party- she was not blind when they met. Abi ,did you rewind/forward through Darkness of Sorrow or are we not talking about Darkness of Sorrow? I assumed your review was for Darkness of Sorrow, if not then forget my statements

Calm down nau, just a misunderstanding.

The scene I am talking about is in part 2 (or disc B). I guess you've only watched half the movie because it didnot end like that ( I don't want to spoil the ending for you)

    Seen it.
    A tale of two parts.
Part 1,badly written and executed;not very interesting,at all.
Part 2,a whole lot better,a whole whole lot.Seemed like two different writers wrote each part.
    Ending a little weak.
    No yankelising here,THANK GOD.
    Good story,overall.
Do i get a whiff of bollywood in that story?Never mind,it was nice.
Smith Asante is a much better actor than Van Vickers.
Nadia is good, but can and will get better. She's got great potentials.
    A small observation of some little lapse in the plot;
When kayla hear the voice of CK and recognized it,and then asked him if he was CK and he denied it,what stopped her from asking her fiancee (Asante) to confirm his ID.
All she had to do was ask him if Charles is CK,and the truth is known.
Her fiancee is CK's best friend,so i take it he should know his nickname.

    Anyway,it is a good watch,and recommended,especially the second part.

I think that can be explained by the fact that she felt torn- she didnot want to break up her marriage but at the same time needed to know the answer. If she had asked about him to the husband, it would have raised suspicions. Afterall CK pretended he didnot know her and it would be weird if she would ask her husband his nickname- wetin concern her with his nickname?

Also, keep in mind that we never saw the husband introduce them in their full names. Obviously the K in CK would stand for a last name or middle name. If he had, maybe she could have put two and two together. If not, I don't see how she could have broached the topic without raising suspicion. Now, if the husband had mentioned before that his nickname was CK, before CK arrived, than I would think your critique would be well founded because the plot would center on whether he was that CK she knew.

I agree with you on the first part, quite boring and some uneccessary scenes. The second part was almost perfect

I see your point, but still i see lapses in that area.Judging by how desperate she was to know who CK was,she did not give me the impression that she really cared about jeopardising her relationship with her fiancee,so i don't think that should've stopped her from asking him.Remember that she has no feelings whatsoever for her fiancee at that point even though they were engaged.
Another point, when CK first introduced himself to kayla in the first part,he did say that "My friends call me,CK" and i guess that should include his very best friend. So it was only natural to expect Asante to introduce his bestffriend to his new found love either via his popular nickname(CK),or atleast with both his normal name and his alias.Methinks that if he had done that, that would've heightened the drama a lot more, and closed up that lapse.

Oh no no no no no, Maame Monica - Aden na wo ka saaah Chaley,
Mentaaa no koraaa, me pe na sem paaa , na emom, ni acting ye a bit boring sometimes - no emotion. Asem no diye edaho aa na waka. I dont like sugarcoating, i call a spade a spade. I want the best for him - i want him to improve and be as good as RMD. If you like someone you tell them the truth if they sck as somthing. He is not terrible, but he is definately not great. I will stilll keep buying and supporting his work. He needs encouragement I want us to distinguish whether the gooo gooo gaah gaah is about his looks or his acting - His looks diye, he definately got it. He is one of the cutest we have seen on african movie tv. My favourite movie where i enjoyed him in it from beginning to end cos he really put his emotion into it- was the one where he was blind. I forgot the title. I loved that movie. Nadia nor Jackie were not in it - but i liked it though.
