    New Tchidi Chikere movies

For those of you that like Mr Tchidi Chikere movies he has done few movies latley. I have been watching some nice movies latley and they are Mr Tchidi Chikere movies I will give you short reviews.

    All the Way1&2
    Story/screenplay Tchidi Chikere
    Producer Tchidi Chikere
    Director Tchidi Chikere
Starring Francis Duru, Linc Edochie, Queen Nwaokoye andI Ifeanyi Okechukwu
    Storyline
Obieze (Francis Duru) and Okoil (Queen Nwaokoye) are two village lovers, but their love is a threat to Mazi Okweme (Ifeanyi Okechukwu) a rich overbearing elderly man who love Okoil and will do anything to get married to Okoil even if it means giving all his money away to have Okoil as his wife.

My review as always I like Tchidi Chikere movies . what I also like his movies is most times he uses village settings for his movies (I love village movies). Nice movie very Entertaining movie to watch. Although the story is very similar with other nollywood movies there is always something I like about his movies the movie Obieze and Mazi Okweme script is so funny it was comedy for me when both of them fight and insult each other their dialogue was point. Mazi Okweme made me laugh so hard the way he was making his hands when he was fighting with Obieze was damn funny, both of them suit each other. Especially the part when he said to Mazi Okweme "you useless shameless old he goat, go to a zoo and look for a wife because is the only place you get a wife to marry" lol .
Linc edochie played the role of Eluwo Okoil elder brother, he also was good with his character. Queen Nwaokoye I not a fan of hers but she was pretty cool. Francis Duru is quite a good actor he deliver his character well. The movie has it own mistakes. I will recommend it is worth watching and entertaining.

    Soul of a Maiden 1&2
    Story/screenplay- Tchidi Chikere
    Director - Tchidi Chikere
Storyline Olamma (played by Ini Edo)a young kind hearted village maiden was consider an outcast by others Olamma later made a promise that she will never let no man touch her. But she later meet a kind hearted Prince(Mike Ezuruonye) who falls in love with her.

Starring Ini Edo, Mike Ezuruonye, Mercy Johnson, Laz Ekwueme and others

Very nice movie I loved the storyline, the movie has a very nice cast. Ini Edo did well she nailed her character her emotions were on point. Mercy Johnson also nailed her character with such good acting she was damn too wicked to Olamma Character I feel her pains when they call her an outcast. Anyway Loved mercy hairstyle it was very neat and tidy I love the costumes they all wore in the movies . Mike also did his t own thing he was very nice to see mike in a different role. Tchidi Chikere did it again such a nice movie thumbs up. As always every movie has it own mistakes noting is perfect.

I recommend the movie very nice village movie.

Live to Remember 1&2 Starring Ini Edo, Mike Ezuruonye, Mercy Johnson and others.
    Story/Screenplay Tchidi Chikere
    Director Tchidi Chikere
Storyline-Two friends who cannot do without each other find themselves divided by two kinds of marriage. One that would bring instant pain and one that would later bring a far worse pain. I already have a thread on this movie you could read my reviews and others views about this movie. Very nice and sad movie loved every part of the movie.

Abeg make una go easy on Mr Chikere. He's been extremely consistent with his movies in the past. Surely we could make an exception for him, couldn't we?

My dear I prefer village to the so called westernized or city movies. These village movies portray the African culture.
No wonder I also prefer epic Hollywood movies.

That's part of the reason why I *don't* like village movies and so-called "epics"... I don't think they accurately portray the culture at all. All the inaccuracies and anachronisms distract me too much from the story.

    Some do, others don't.
However there's this desire to see and understand the events of the past that I do not see everyday.
The movies based on current events are not necessarily a big deal to me cos I see most of those events everyday.

But if the depiction of those past events is inaccurate, poorly researched, haphazardly presented... doesn't that just cause more confusion and misunderstanding?

I mean.... I realize that it's just movies and not necessarily educational documentaries, so I can overlook it for the sake of entertainment (even though it's not something that I personally enjoy watching). But when I hear Nollywood people (and fans) praise "epics" their educational/cultural value, that's when I always have to stand up and say "NO, NO, NO!" these movies, for the most part, are really not true representations of history or culture.

Maybe you can give a rough estimate of the % of village movies you feel are "poorly researched, haphazardly presented" etc.

Good question... Hard for me to say (especially since, admittedly, I generally avoid watching these movies) but from what I have seen, I think I can confidently say that very close to 100% of epics are inaccurate or poorly constructed. (I'm talking about EMG, by the way... YMG epics seem to be better at this, at least in intent.)

As far as contemporary village movies... Well, that one is more of a toss-up.

I think I tend to appreciate it more probably because I do not know too much about Nigerian culture especially the Igbo culture as it's most often portrayed in Nollywood. Inspite of the inaccuracies, these movies usually achieve the objective of giving foreigners a brief introduction of the Igbo culture.
You're right though, they should try and be more accurate.
