Yoruba Movies Get Separate Award

Lagos
In a couple of months, Nigerians will witness another celebration of excellence in the movie industry.
This time, however, the awards will be limited to the Yoruba movie practitioners, courtesy of a group that prefers to remain faceless for now.
Simply coded Ife Eye Trophy of Honour, a source close to the organising committee of the award said Ife Eye will not be just another award, rather, it will be an annual festival of videos and films that will be celebrated by the Yoruba race.
Ife Eye, we were also told, will feature exhibitions, talent hunt and competitions among cultural groups in the South-Western states. Seminars and workshops on the Yoruba video and film industry are also designed to be part of the ceremony, as well as Night for Yoruba Veterans in the arts industry.
Scheduled to hold in April, already the event organisers have been co-opting veterans in the industry, as well as big names in the industry to be part of the show.

IFE EYE trophy?!
Sounds like a footballing trophy to me!I'm sure they can think of a more apt title for the award than that.
Good idea though.
