I get question
Shey we fit get into yawa as per we dey use awon 50 cents, Ja Rule and Jigga music inside our movies...we dey ask permission before we dey use dem music...cause sometimes i dey wonder...??
Cause omo, if one CEO of one entertainment biz. see one naija movie with
"GO GO GO SHAWTY, ITS YOUR BURTHDAY, WE GON PAWDY LIKE ITS YOUR BURTHDAY, WE GON SIP BACARDI LIKE ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY..."
Hmph! Yawa fit gas...
So do we do it all legally by asking permissioin or do we just straight up, copp a CD and throw the music into our stuff???

They do it illegally by not asking for permission and just going straight up,cop a CD and throw the music into their stuffs.

It is cheaper that way,you see!
At least that is what cheapstake producers think.

This is the type of thing Roseline Odeh and her NFVCB should be chasing after. They should ensure we use our own music/music stars as theme/incidental music to our movies. I'm sure we have brilliant musicians/singers, and this is one way of promoting them and their works.

It will be nicer it we used our own music. But the truth is the it is not illegal for them to use American music. Patents are filed and granted by country, so copyright laws only protects you in countries where you have patent. American music and MOVIES do not have patent in Nigeria...at least not yet

I'll dought this very much, as of now, I don't know but I'll try and find out. I remember reading something from FBI long ago, It says if FBI warning (or other nations' FBI like) is on the item, then it applies to all the Nations in the United Nations. Like I said, I can't remember, but I'll find out.

yeah, if we really want our nigerian films to be nigerian films, i think we need to hear nigerian music in them coz i dont ever hear 50cent in all them Chinese movies...C'mon, like we've got wonderful Naija Artist

I think we gat lots of talents unknown that will love compose a song as a songtrack for a movie to enable come out but no one cares I support.

Anyway it's something in my brain, watch out the industry won't remain the way it is, lots will be changed.

I also pray we should get into the hands of any CEO, I wonder if Bad Boys Records or Interscope are calling up a drama for Nollywood for using their music/songs without permit.

So... changes we all need ya!

Only the english genre is guilty of this crime of using foreign music in their soundtracks.That gotta change.
