My sister, I watch am proper...but one thing about our African movie industry is that when it comes to the sex scenes they never get the sex scenes right...it always comes out as revolting to me....very tacky indeed. But, I must say that the love scene in the end of the movie called "The Perfect Picture" was a first for me....![]()

I was actually joking about the porn stuff..
The way to make Hollywood take you seriously is tell good stories with high quality acting and production.. Like SA did with Tsotsi or The Wooden Camera.. Sex sells from a commercial standpoint, but not from an artistic one...
If the movie fails in those department, no amount of sex will make anyone in any industry, take them seriously..

I have learned so much from God

The Truth has shared so much of Itself with me
That I can no longer call myself
a man, a woman, an angel, or even a pure soul.
Love has befriended Hafiz so completely.
It has turned to ash and freed me
Of every concept and image my mind has ever known.

But isn't the way to make Hollywood take you seriously to perform commercially?
Hollywood ain't about art... It's about money.
To go back to my favorite example, take Tyler Perry: His movies are terribly written, ineptly directed and (until recently) featured pretty atrocious acting. But for whatever reason, he was able to pull in millions at the box office without any major promotion or support from a non-black audience.
Hollywood came knocking at his door not because he is artistically accomplished in any way, but because they wanted a piece of those numbers he was racking up.
If Ghanaians having tacky sex ends up pulling in massive amounts of cash, you can bet Hollywood will take them seriously.

The one in my avatar is a naija flick coming out soon....i have been anxiously waiting for it...Emem Isong is on the roll! I also loved her other movie called 'Reloaded'.
The Ghanaian movie is actually called "The Perfect Picture" and not Planning as I stated before. I also liked another Ghanaian movie called "Life and Living it". I finally watched "Prince's bride" and it was cool....for some reason, the pre-view got over my nerves and I decided not to watch it, but my girlfriend came by to visit me and she came with it and I watched it....i was not disappointed. There are a few others out there that I have not watched myself....but if you scroll through the Ghana forum, you will see them listed. I just watched Omot's movie called "My Story" and it was fantastic...it's an old flick with an exceptional performance by most of the actors but especially Omot.
Some other movies that I watched and liked although there were some flaws as usual are as follows:
Naija movies:
Distance between
Desperate maid
blood game
white waters
stronger than pain
The obsessed
Emerald
hope alive
Sleepwalker
Another Ghanaian movie is the Scorned....an old one...i did not particularly like it but you may....I also have mixed feels for the Ghanaian movie called Shakira....i found it to be disgusting and did not bother to watch part three but I hear from others that they pulled it off nicely in the part three.

Black sex does not sell... Unless it is porn.... Even in the current porn industry, black porn lags way behind Caucasin porn and gay porn...
Putting that aside, Hollywood would come knocking if this type of sex indeed makes money... In the African and Black communities, it simply does not. You know what does? God! Tyler Perry made his money and fame from Christian, faith based programs. Sex in our communities, does not sell and is not as commercially viable as simple stories, violence or comedies.
Halle Berry had sex with a rickety white man. That is what sold! If there was a movie with Halle Berry having steamy sex with Will Smith or LL Cool J, trust me, Hollywood would be less interested because they will not garner the type of hype, or money, if she was naked with John Travolta...
So if black sexuality does not make real money here in Hollywood, what makes you think African sexuality will make Hollywood do anything but yawn?
