A guy is trying to play a fast one on the sought-after producer and actor from Ghana, Van Vicker, as he goes about on the Internet claiming to be Van Vicker and attempting to rob his fans of money.

The Ghanaian actor revealed this to Life and Beat through his media consultant, Bigsam Media.

Vicker claimed he miraculously escaped the Haiti earthquake that led to massive loss of lives and property. He and some other stars from Haiti and the Caribbeans were to shoot his new movie in Haiti at the time of the earthquake but work engagements slowed down their travelling.

And not to only sit back and thank his stars that he was not in Haiti during the crisis, he decided, like some other Nollywood actors, to play a part in helping to alleviate the pains of Haitians by raising funds for the victims.

But he said since he came up with the initiative, an impostor had been trying to take advantage of it to defraud his fans.

Van Vicker’s media consultants confirmed that some impostors had been spotted on twitter, FB , Myspace and Hi5 claiming to be Van Vicker and trying to rob people of their monies.

“Van Vicker hereby warns his fans to beware of this impostor who may want to scam them. Van’s real address is vanvickerlive.com, face book id – realvanvicker, face book page (fans) – jvanvicker, twitter – realvanvicker. He does not have a Hi5 account and his My Space account is dormant. His fans need to know that all donations and appeals will be done via his site,” Bigsam said.
