Hi--I'm interested in topics like these in Naija history, so I thought you might be interested in this New York Times article from a couple of years back about World War II veterans in the Gambia. Conscripted soldiers from all over West Africa were trained in Nigeria to fight with the Allies in various places. Burma was one of the main locations, possibly because the Europeans felt like Africans were more used to the tropical weather of Asia than they were: http://www.dawodu.com/burma.htm
There's also a novel named The Joys of Motherhood by Buchi Emechita that makes references to one of the characters being forced into the army and fighting in Burma. It would be interesting to see a Naija "Saving Private Ryan" type of film, though I'm sure the budget (and probably the market) isn't there right now for that kind of thing.

I watched part 1 & 2 this weekend. 
Found the disc 1 of Part 1 so irritating, but once the missionaries showed up it was so hilarious(Ndiocha with Igbo accent!) .

Captain's son Mark4 is a dumb dumb funny character. I love the dialogue between Captain and his wife. The lady de blow Owerri Language well well. Captain na theif by language. Part 3 de funny.
