By the way, my grandpa also used to tell us how they went to Burma to fight some war, and I used to think he got the name wrong. I thought he must have fought in some African country but not all the way in Burma.
Now, I'm wondering, which war did the Nigerians fight in Burma for the British, WWII?
Please, whoever that knows the details about this war and Nigeria's involvement in it, please could you let me know, Thanks.

Once known as Burma, Myanmar was an independent Buddhist kingdom from the 11th to the 13th centuries, when the country fell to Mongol invaders. One hundred years later, it was a satellite of China. Britain and France vied for Burma, and in the early 1800s, France was in the ascendancy. Britain, however, eventually triumphed and Burma came under the control of the British raj of India. In 1937, Burma became a self-governing protectorate. Burma was the site of heavy fighting between Japanese and Allied forces during World War II. In 1948, the Union of Burma was born.

I'll do a little research on this. On the other hand, if there is any info you can throw my way regarding Nigeria's involvement in this war, I will greatly appreciate it.
