Uwa Na Acho Ikpu
Chegharianu! maka Uwa Na Acho Ikpu!
Asusu Igbo na agbagweju anya nke ukwu...okwu ahu di n'elu bu mpku onye n'agbasa ozi oma na eti were na agwa umu uwa ka ha sepu aka na mmehie maka na uwa mmebi erugo nso. Ebe osi were jogbue onwe ya bu na 'Ikpu' roro ihe di iche n'ala Igbo. Otu n'ime ha bu ihe di n'ahu mmadu.
Oburu n'ibu onye n'agbasa ozi oma, iga ehi asaa n'anya ma ina aku mgbirimba agbasa ozi gi, maka na ndi mmadu ga aghotahie ozi oma gi...oburu n'imeghi etu ahu, ya efokwalagi aji imi ma ihu umuazi ebe ha na achi ka oke rachara nnu kama ha ga ana nti n'ozi oma gi...
ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
Igbo language is one tough cookie...now the above comment is a preacher's cry upon the world to repent of their evil ways for the end of the world is around the corner...unfortunately, 'Ikpu' means a lot of things in many parts of the Igbo tribe, including a vital part of the human anatomy...
If you are a preacher walking on the street and ringing your bells, be careful to sift your language before you pass the wrong message...or you should not be surprised if a bunch of kids giggle at your comments instead of listening to yer sermon...

A bit like Mr. Smith, the missionary in 'Things Fall Apart' who made Umuofia people laugh with '....Chukwu bu ike'm....'

When I read the title first, I honestly thought the "ikpu" part meant female genital. Wondering why uwa ga acho ikpu, maybe we have many missing ikpus? Or maybe because I heard the word used that way more than any other.
Just like English, one word can mean different things.

Yes o but nke igbo puru iche...
Egbe
Egbe
Akwa - Bridge
Akwa - Egg
Akwa - Bed
Akwa - Cry
Akwa - Cloth
ohu - genital
ohu - (number...can't remember which one)
ohu - vision
ohu - slave
Ikpu
Ikpu
Ikpu
ite
ite
otu
otu
otu
Difference is you can easily send the wrong message where the Igbo words are concerned...sometimes you're bound to slip and spit out the wrong word...

Really? Could be a slang, or you have been away from home for a long time. Try to visit sometime.
