Missuju, you dey right small and the funny thing is that most of these movies would sound and flow better in Igbo (with good subtitles) cos except for a few ppl like Olu Jacobs, Joke Silver, RMD, Omotola, Stella, Genevieve, Bimbo Akintola, Ramsey.... who speak fluent and good English, others seem to struggle with English. I can't keep count of how many times I've cringed @ some actors' grammar and tenses. Remember Rattle snake 1, 2 & 3, Nneka the pretty serpent, living in bondage, evil passion etc The language flow was superb and the scenes interesting too.

You oviously have your history upside down. And your figures too. You think if Igbo movies sold more, marketers who make movies just for the money (and not the art) would stop making it? Think about it again.

Me too o, I wonder about this backwards history of the Nigerian movie industry. But I agree with the general sentiment--I'd still buy these English movies if some were in Igbo with good subtitles. I've got nothing against movies in English, but our own languages are so much more interesting and I think that people fluent in those languages are able to produce movies with much more sophisticated dialogue and plotting than when they struggle with English. Sub-titles and translations may never do full justice, but I'm guessing that the restriction of writing in a second language is partly responsible for the sub-standard scripts that get produced in Nigeria.

There Is Nothing Wrong With Movies In Igbo, As Long As They Have A Good Subtitle. So Non Igbo Can Follow ,i Dont Speak Ibo But I Have Watch Some Movies With My Igbo Friends I Keep Asking About What Are They Saying Which To Me Is Very Furstrating Because The Sub Title Is Not Full. There Was Time In Nigeria Most Of Our Movies Was In India Or Chinnese We Stll Enjoy Watching Them, But Now Things Are More Advance And The Marketers I Think Will Want To Go For More Movies That Will Capture More Audience

Folakky, e be like say u no know wetin u dey talk about. Movies like IKUKU, RATTLESNAKE, NNEKA THE PRETTY SERPENT, LIVING IN BONDAGE.....never come under ur radar. Name the igbo movies wey dey have nothing but rituals, then we go continue this conversation.
It is better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
