I bet real life versions of him back in Aladimma would be wringing their hands in dismay! Folks like Prof E Nolue Emenanjo of SPILC (Society for the Promotion of the Igbo Language and Culture) would not be amused by this bastardised mutated mongrel phenomenon called Igbonglis at all!
As you said, what can one do ?

Nnam, it's everywhere. Even English-speaking folks "basterdized" their own language! Most technical English sentences have bits of German, French, Greek language, etc., just to make it sound "classy".

I have always been interested in the diversity of Naija, and the socio-political goings-on over there. I am aware that Aladimma is being adopted to include both Alaigbo(Igboland) and the Igboid/Igbo-speaking neighbouring peoples who shy away from identying themselves as part of Ndi Igbo. maybe we should start a thread on the on-going (NPRC) national conference.
ciao

I know about that, but a lot of foreign words in modern english are to do with scientific and technical jargons! The African approach is rooted in no-break no-jam colonial mentalised attitude!
Anyways, I won't say anything on this anymore jare, abi wetin be mai own when Africans lose their identity and wallow in the shadow of other cultures ?
Chikena!

Pete, in some politically active Igbo circles, the name Aladimma is being proposed for a future Igbo autonomous region, rather than Biafra. Maybe this is not widely known among the generality of Ndi igbo, but trust me on this!
(Hey, we can continue this convo elsewhere -- possibly on a national conference related thread ? --- and not disturb the good folks reading this thread with our digressions!)
Thanks.
