The continent of Asia is not only known for its popular Chinese cuisine but also for its amazing martial arts cinema that now comes predominately from Hong Kong and has been termed “Hong Kong action cinema” since the 1980’s.
Looking for a change of pace? Martial arts can always add a little seasoning to your movie viewing experience…give it go!
I’d recommend The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and Five Deadly Venoms. Both released in 1978 and were produced by Shaw Brothers, masters of the genre. I also recommend Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior starring Tony Jaa. If you’ve ever heard of Bruce Lee you may want to get acquainted with who Tony Jaa “is”.
