@ Sifu, I knew someone would come at me with the till you are married post, just like BBfly was told she couldn't possibly relate to a mother's plight because she isn't one......My sister, I might not be married, but I still have a wealth of experience in certain things.....I no need show my dross for public for people to confirm the color.....
I have no clue where you got that. Those words were never written anywhere in this thread... But if that's what you understood from my post to her, it is well...

The simple fact is, no matter how much experience you think you have in a particular subject, as a spectator, it cannot, in any logical or realistic term, compare to the actual experience. This is a simple fact.

Do you have a right to an opinion? ABSOLUTELY! Will your opinion be wrong just because of the lack of actual experience? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

However, just because, throughout my life, I have seen women enduring menstrual cramps or PMS, I can NEVER claim to have more knowledge than a woman that has actually EXPERIENCED these things. Short of being a research scientist, who has conducted multiple studies with women, to become and expert in the field, whatever "wealth of knowledge", I think I have, cannot trump someone's else's experience. And I should not take offence if a woman, that has experienced those things, points out my lack of experience. It is simply a statement of fact.

Again, experience, no experience, EVERYONE has a right to their opinion and comments.

Simply pointing out a lack of one's experience in a particular issue does not discount their comments, but adds perspective to it.

You can certainly relate but you might not fully understand. It's just like someone who took care of a loved one that was sick. You can say you know how it is but you did not feel it. I am not saying you are not wise. God have mercy. I am only saying that you can definitely sympathize afterall you are human but you cannot fully relate. No be fight.

I really am not a "back and forther" as I choose to call it, but this one time, let me give it a go. Your post seemed, IMO to be pointing out the fact that she is not a mother and in that context a lil less experienced, and you as a father had actual experience; if not, then the lil line "from your post, I take it you are not a mother" was tres unneccessary; I would think you intended for it to prove some kind of point............but anyways, what do I know? I have been known to be wrong, you wrote the post, so only you know what you had in mind; but as I no dey your mind, e go hard me to comprehend it exactly the way you intended it.......It doesnt matter anyways!

@ Sifu......my post was more tongue in cheek than combative, I am amused that you found the latter to be the premise!........I am generally a goofball, and I dont take myself too seriously on this site....

Bottomline is this, we all come from different backgrounds and as such are prone to handling situations differently. This does not neccessarily make one way better than the other........what works for Mr A, might not work for Mr B....what goes for the goose does not have to apply to the gander; so to each his own!............And I believe that is why Leggy brought this up here, cos she knew she would most def get varying opinions, then she would glean all she possibly can from it, and use as she sees fit!

Unecessary if it was intended as a slight.. It was not....

From my other post, to you...
