Thread: Actors RMD, Stella Damasus, others bag award in London

THE Arts, Entertainment, Personality and Excellence in Governance Awards (AEPEG) 2006 were handed out penultimate weekend in Ilford, London with popular actors, Richard Mofe Damijo aka RMD, Jide Kosoko and star actress, Stella Damasus-Aboderin bagging awards in different categories. Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented the awards.

Motivational speaker, Dayo Olomu, ably assisted by broadcaster, Lanre Ijaola at the prestigious Coliseum Palace Ilford High Road, Ilford Essex, hosted AEPEG 2006, the third in the series organised by Lords Promotions International. Equally recognized was Evangelist Sonny Okosuns who received the Evergreen Awards presented by Hon. Abike Dabiri, member, House Of Representatives.

Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was honoured with the Grand Excellence Award and Governor of the Year Award presented to him by the Chief Executive Officer of Lords Promotions, Mr. Segun Akinloye Okeowo, in recognition of his exemplary leadership and excellence in governance.

Other recipients of awards in the Governance Category were four commissioners from Lagos State Hon. Dele Alake (Information and Strategy), Hon. Chief (Mrs) Joke Orelope Adefulire(Women Affairs and Eradication of Poverty Alleviation, Hon. (Barrister) Tunji Bello (Environment), Hon. (Eng) Rauf Aregbesola (Works).

Also honoured were media personalities including Talk Show Host, Mr. Bisi Olatilo, Publisher, Ovation International Magazine, Dr. Abayomi Dele Momodu, Publisher, City People Magazine, Mr. Seye Kehinde, and the Publisher, Global Excellence, Mayor Akinpelu. Other recipients were Obesere, Diya Ojo, Wale Thompson, Solek, DJ Abass and DJ KC. Present at the award ceremony were Member, Federal House Of Representatives, Hon. Abike Dabiri and the Speaker, Lagos State of House Of Assembly, and the Commisioner for Health, Hon. Dr. Leke Pitan.

It turned out a night of music and celebration as former Miss Nigeria, now a singer, Janet Fateye, gospel act, Iwa and Mr. Solek entertained guests. Fuji music king, KI Ultimate thrilled the audience in the sold out hall with his pulsating rhythm.

Lords Promotion International Inc. a cultural, entertainment and media consultancy outfit has promoted frontline Nigerian artistes- King Sunny Ade (KSA), Evangelist Sonny Okosuns, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, Sir Shina Peters (SSP), Yinka Ayefele and Sunny Neji, home and abroad.

In 2004, the outfit rolled out its maiden edition of AEPEG Awards in Toronto, Canada in conjunction with the Nigerian Canadian Association (NCA).

In 2005, Lords Promotions International was the official representative of the Emancipation Support Committee of Trinidad and Tobago to Nigeria and facilitated 50 eminent personalities including President Olusegun Obasanjo to the Caribbean country to celebrate the Emancipation Week.
