AIM Iyke is no longer the new kid on the block, but an established star. The most interesting thing about him now is not his acting side, but his new found love for the less privileged. The zeal he attaches to his new love is unmatched. He is turning out to be the small hinge on which many turn to for a breath of life.
This love for the less privileged took him to Liberia last week where he organized a charity concert. The concert was tagged 4 kings of Love. Jim Iyke Foundation collaborated with Hush Entertainment (a Liberian company) to give Liberians an unforgettable three day concert. It was a worthwhile show. And it has given his foundation a breadth and boldness it needs to excel.
I t was an agreeable effort Mr. Ibu, I go dye, Tu Face and Jim Iyke were the four Kings of Love. The exuberance and sensitivity of the Liberians were infectious. The Nigerian stars were given the most tumultuous welcome and it was a crowd that came out to watch the show. During the concert, Ibu mischievous high spirit was on display.
Iyke’s romantic charm was blended in a fresh, natural style and I go dye jokes were full of witty details. The presence of Tu Face on stage saw the Liberians dancing on lively form to his treasure of melody. Tu Face sang with effortless flair. The show was held in Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia. And it was sponsored by Lonestar Cell, the biggest telecommunication company in Liberia.
According toI go dye; the show was a huge success.
"We had a mammoth crowd at the stadium. It was really successful. Again success is not only about money. It is all about happiness and how you can create happiness for your self and how you can make people appreciate what you are doing. To me, it was a success."
Mr. Ibu said: "If you are talking about financial success for the organisers, yes it was successful. For the nation we visited, yes. Achieving a dream for me to be in Liberia, yes. It was a good trip". Ibu stated further that it was his long standing relationship with Jim Iyke that got him involved in the project. "I serve the public and I should be ready to serve the public anytime I am consulted officially. Iyke is my colleague and my younger brother. So he approached me in a language I am supposed to understand. So, I obliged him."
Tu Face also agreed that it was a huge success. "It was huge. The whole movement from the very first night to the third night was wonderful. It is a big challenge to people out there that wants to do something for humanity. I really commend Jim Iyke for making this happen. I really enjoyed myself and for a good cause. I never expected that people could turn out that way given the fact that this is a country that has been ravaged by war." To him Jim Iyke is one of a kind. "He is a young and intelligent guy.He knows what he is doing. He is much focused and that is what I like most about him" According to the boss of Hush entertainment, Jerk Kabakole, Jim is an angel. He is a good brother. As soon as you walk into the guy, you see love and you see compassion. You see a good spirit. That is one thing about people that give. I love the guy."
The idea behind having a show in Liberia came about when Jim Iyke visited the country last year. He said what he saw in the country moved him to render some sort of service.
"I went there with the staff of my Foundation. We looked at what they had and we saw about four orphanages that we were willing to assist.
So, we decided to move over there and organize a concert and thirty percent of what we made out of this concert went into renovation, funding and running of the four orphanages within Monrovia. And we have made good our promise", he said.
