How 26-yr-old man beheaded girlfriend for money making ritual

    WARNING - SHOCKING PICTURE INCLUDE)

    Sunday, August 7, 2011

    BY PETER DURU, MAKURDI

Emotions ran high at Tse Ihungwa village in Katsina/Ala local government area of Benue State few days ago, when the villagers discovered that a 26- year-old man, Ther Mwuase, has been heinously beheaded by her 25 -year -old lover, Aondonenge Tuma in a nearby forest in the village.

It was gathered from reliable sources that Aondonenge, a renowned young farmer at Ihungwa, beheaded his lover for money ritual at the prompting of his Alhaji friend who is still at large.

According to our source, the heart -rendering incident took place few days after Aondonenge was promised millions of Naira by his Alhaji friend on the premise that he would produce a woman's head for the ritual.

The suspect said after he slept over the proposal, he chose to produce the head of a woman for the ritual that would make him an instant millionaire. He said he opted for his girl's friend head because it was very easy to convince her with false stories that would lure her into the bush where the act would be carried out, our source said.

It was gathered that Aondonenge actually succeeded in convincing his lover into a nearby bush on the pretext that he had farm work to take care of on the said day.

But on getting to the bush, Mwuase was hacked to the ground by her lover, who pulled out a knife and severed her head from her remains. The suspect was said to have hidden the remains of the young woman in the bush while the head was wrapped and put in a bag.

However luck ran out on him when on his way to search for his Alhaji friend who was to perform the necessary ritual that would yield them money, detectives from Katsina/Ala Area Command of the Police force who, acting on a tip off, nabbed him.

The suspect confessed to the crime, lamenting that it was his desperation for wealth and his quest to survive at all cost that lured him into the crime.

He also pleaded for forgiveness from the parents and family members of his victim, whom he described as his very close friend and lover.

According to him, "It was my Alhaji friend that lured me into the crime; when we met at the village square days ago, he promised to make me an instant millionaire if a produced a woman's head for him".

"I thought over the offer and because I want to be rich and live in affluence, I decided to search for the head of a woman that would yield me a lot of money".

"It was at this point that I decided to produce the head of my girl friend which will be easy to execute".

On how he did it, the suspect said he deceived the young lady into the bush in the guise that they were going out on a routine farm work. "When we got to the bush, I hacked her down and used my knife to severe her head from the body and put it in a bag".

After his arrest, the suspect was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department of the State Police Command for further investigation.

Crime Guard gathered that the suspect alongside his elder brother has been arraigned for conspiracy, culpable homicide and unlawful possession of human head.

It was also gathered that Mwuase's gruesome murder would have sparked angry reactions and reprisal killings by youths in her village but for the quick intervention of the Police in the area who pleaded for calm assuring that justice would be done in the matter.

Today, the parents and relatives of the slain lady are praying and waiting for justice to be meted to the alleged perpetrator of the act.

Investigations revealed that Mwuase and Aondonenge had been lovers for over three years with the duo hoping to solemnize the relationship in the very near future.

According to sources, the love birds were so close to each other and no one will ever agree that Aondonenge would be responsible for her gruesome murder.

Speaking on the issue, Vershima Ter, who claimed he knew the lovebirds few months ago expressed total shock and disbelieve that Aondonenge could lay a finger on his lover let alone slash her throat.

"I am beginning to think that the person that asked him to get the human head must have used some form of voodoo and enchantment to get him into the act because the Aondonenge I know wouldn't have done it".

He pleaded with the Police to intensify the search for the said Alhaji who lured the suspect into the crime saying that "his arrest will definitely unravel a lot of things and also let us into what transpired between the two of them before he opted to slay his lover".

Confirming the unfortunate incident, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Mr. Ejike Alaribe (ASP) lamented the act of the young man.

Alaribe regretted that the quest for quick riches was driving not a few youths into dastardly acts that could attract far- reaching consequences.

According to him, how can a young man in his right senses opt to take the life of a young woman whom he claimed was his girl friend, all in a bid to get rich?

The PPRO urged parents and guardians to keep a close tab on their children and wards in order to monitor their activities and the type of friends they keep.

"We live in dangerous times, and it has become imperative that parents keenly monitor their children and also check the kind of company they keep and the type of people they relate with on a daily basis", Alaribe counseled.

The PPRO reminded the people of the state of the warning handed down by the new Commissioner of Police in charge of Benue State, Mr. Emmanuel Obiako, that no crime would go unpunished in the state. He warned all those behind criminal activities in the state to desist or be prepared to face the long arm of the law.

"The new CP has intensified the war against criminality in Benue State, and I believe it will do us a lot of good if we all ensure that we are law abiding and conscientious citizens of our state, the spokesman assured."
