Do you see what I mean?

To each his own, of course. To me, I think it is another way to make the path harder for oneself in this country where we know that people will use name to judge a person sight unseen, it pays to have a resume friendly name in this world today. Is it fair? NOPE! Does it infringe on one's rights and creativity or whatever? Sure! This is the world we live in, this is not imagined issues, they are real! Unless JesusIsLord ChristIsKing and Rejoice ChristIsKing are going to work for Christ the Lord Evangelistic Association for the rest of their lives, they are being placed at a disadvantage from the onset due to those rather unfortunate names. Sometimes, it is best to chose our battles wisely.

ROTFL @ some of those names. But what's wrong with Duke and Bishop? Plenty of the names we bear in Nigeria will be banned under these laws - God's power, God's will, With-thee etc

This is a very litigious society, people sue over the most minute things. A christian can similarly sue if a satanist named his or her child "Satanrules"...where does it end? And I think that's what the judge is trying to avoid. There have been many instances where judges have ruled that certain names cannot be used, I mean click on the link below and see some of the names people want to name their children, it is ridiculous.

As for these couple, their actions makes me think of fanatics who've replaced one obsession with another in their lives. Do they think that this will make them get to heaven ahead of everyone else? They should show their love of Christ via their works instead of changing names because they can change names all they want IF their hearts (which is what God looks at anyway) isn't right then all that is null and void! People who are on the fence about Christ are most likely to run away from such fanaticism that embrace the word of God, this wouldn't make it more attractive to anyone who is still seeking a spiritual path. My opinion...

I have heard of Testimony sef...like really? The child's birth may have given you reason to give testimony at church but must you literally name the child testimony? People sometimes name their children as though they were naming a dog without thinking about the future for that child. There is a very fine line between creative and weird...when you are rich you can name your child Apple or Moxie Crimefighter (yes, that is not a made up name, Penn Jillette actually gave his daughter that name), no problem because that child most likely wouldn't sending a resume to Goldman Sachs for a job.

Job? How about the endless bullying in school? Even those with normal, but foreign names get bullied and skitted. My brother got called Scrooge in school simply because his middle name is Ebenezer...
