I specifically said that Coulter's comment was not perceived by me as racist, being a racist and being an idiot are two different things, Coulter is truly a maggot that should just 'dissolve' and dissipate. As for the healthcare, I too do not agree with many points of the healthcare, but we must understand in this country and in most of not all things, is that there must be compromise and for there to be compromise, there must be sacrifice. Are there parts of a bill I would like, and parts I will not like or even hate, yes, but the big question is, does this bill serve the greater good.
Sammy, for the insurance question, I for one, will not complain about having insurance, first of all, it keeps prices down for everyone and there are less uninsured motorists out there than had there not been an insurance mandate, so again, social consciousness, we have to look at the greater good, that is the difference between what psycologists calll the Id, the Ego, and the superego. But as for that, again, that is a policy thing, perfectly understandable, and that is not what I was referring to. If you read previous posts of mine in this thread, I gave specific examples of things that have been said, so the healthcare is a policy issue, and perhaps a party issue, not a racial one.
Sid, Racism has always been and will always be there, what I am and have been saying is that it become more prevalent and less subtle in the media than pre BO's presidency. I will be the first one to yell against using racism as a crutch and as of times, can even become a self fulfilling prophecy, eg, 'the man won't let me get ahead, therefore I won't try' and thus, the said brother remains a loser, and still blames it on 'the man'.
In this case, I will go down fighting that racism is prevalent in the Barack Obama years of governing as a president, there is a very clear distinction between policu deference or lack thereof, than blatant bigotry. Why was GW not ever called a 'tar baby'? C'mon folks, this is not even subtle, some are so overt it's disheartning to the core. Anyway, I will respectfully agree to disagree with you and sammy on this one. NO ONE WILL EVER CONVINCE ME THAT THERE IS NO RACISM WITH THE THE POTUS AND THE FLOTUS. I'm even surprised nothing has been said about their kids, I guess civility still exists to a very small degree.
