Bush writes Obasanjo ... over alleged third term agenda

Indications emerged on Wednesday that the President of the United States, Mr. George Bush, had advised President Olusegun Obasanjo against seeking a third term in office.

A diplomatic source said that Bush’s message advised Obasanjo to respect the country’s constitution and hand over to a new civilian leader in 2007.

The source said Bush’s letter was to have been delivered to Obasanjo on October 24, 2005 by the American Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Ms. Jendayi Frazier.

But Frazier, who arrived on October 23, could not deliver the letter following the death of President Obasanjo’s wife, Stella in Spain; and 117 people in the Bellview plane crash.

I doubt this is story is true. If it is it would be stupid of Bush to even open his mouth into constitutional discussions of another country. That is a matter for the National Assembly of Nigeria to decide, not Bush. how silly!

My guess is that Bush has other things to do. Who would even cook up such a story? Like Bush gives a rat's *** about Niaja.

7th largest oil producer in the world? yeah he does. Cheney even was in some scandal with Halliburton bribing officials in Nigeria. I just don't think Bush would be criticizing a sovereign governments rights to constitutional change or amendment. since his administration has been king of that: threatening to redefine marriage constitutionally, even right now people are arguing about the patriot act, etc. so this letter sounds concocted and bogus especially since America quite likes OBJ at the moment.

If a letter is closed....why are people even the media writing about the contents of a "CLOSED" letter claming it is an advise to hand over in 2007 - how would this be closed then????
