EFCC Boss Ribadu to IBB: I’d rather die than beg you
"How could I for God’s sake? Me, Nuhu Ribadu apologise to Babangida? This is the greatest joke of the century. They are 419 people who have been peddling this kind of story. I’d rather die, I’d rather hang myself than go and beg Babangida. I have never been to his house in my life. I don’t even know my way there. So, how could I have gone there to beg him?"
..."Can I beat my chest and swear that I have never taken bribe in the whole of my career? I swear to Almighty God, God be my witness, I have never taken bribe in my life. I swear 10 times. I swear to Almighty God again and again. And I will never take bribe. And I will challenge anybody in the world who says he has ever given me bribe, please let him come forward and make it public.
Is this dude really a Nigerian? A common police office for that matter, please read on

I do not understand that statement clearly, crazy T.What do you mean by it?Ribadu is the head of a very important federal task force doing a very admirable job of sniffing out the corrupt ones in the corridors of power. He is far from being just a "a common police officer",as you put it.

Until we are ready to die so that future generations can live in a better place.. forget the Nigerian dream. Ribadu is a man that i admire... he is a rare breed of the Nigerian man...

What I meant is what Pompom and solatoks too confirmed i.e. Pompom says " Ribadu ... is a rare breed of the Nigerian man..." and Solatoks also confirm "indeed I find it hard to believe hat he is telling the truth"

We all find it hard to believe that there are upright Nigerians. We find it too hard to believe that some Nigerians in power are incorruptible. We find it hard to believe that there are Nigerians in this world, who, just like the quiet heroes from other countries, are ready to die for what they believe in.
Why do we find it so hard?
Becos most of us were BORN into a corrupt sytem that contained no truths, no honesty and no honour.
Nigeria has been corrupt since before we were born. So we have never seen anything different. In fact, most of us do not even trust ourselves to do the right thing if under pressure from all sides.
Thats why most people believe that Ribadu is fake.
But for some reason, I believe he is for real.
But maybe I'm just stupid.

Why is that? Please explain further.. Are U insinuating that if, lets say, you were a Nigerian Police officer... that you would be a corrupt one just for the simple fact of that you were a Nigerian police officer??? Are all Nigerian police officers corrupt??

Exactly!! That's the hidden point behind my post. Behind that you live in Naija, what is your personal experience with the police?? Have you personally found them to be as corrupt and abusive as they are so often presented to be in the media??

Good point.
I have met a police officer that refused to take a 'dash'. Not becos it was too small (it wasnt), but becos he wanted to do the right thing.

More grease to your elbow Ribadu. Maybe more folks like him will make me think more about going home to contest in a Presidential election sometime in the future. I think I gave up on Naija few months back.

I'm not insinuating anything. All i'm saying is that not all police officers are corrupt but majority of them are if you ask me thats all and I know you will agree with me

Ribadi is my kind of guy - the man we've all been waiting for. Changes are coming and I'm so very much happy with the way he's handling things excessively or not I don't care how he's doing it as long as his hands are clean. Someone needs to teach those silly dogs a lesson, enough stealing already.

For the fact that majority of the people may be corrupt does not mean that there are not a few good ones. To every rule there is an exception, and Ribadu may just be one of the exceptions.
