FG bans same sex marriage
The Federal Government took a major step towards banning same sex marriage in Nigeria, by approving a Bill for an Act to make provisions for the Prohibition of Relationship between Persons of the Same Sex, Celebration of Marriage by them and for other Matters Connected Therewith.
The Bill, presented to the Federal Executive Council (FEC), yesterday, by the Minister for Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Bayo Ojo (SAN), seeks a five-year jail term for offenders and people who aid and support such act in any way.
The Federal Government said checkmating same sex marriage has become expedient, to stop its indulgence by Nigerians, adding that passing the Bill by the National Assembly was important, because “we believe that despite all the pretensions about this kind of thing, Nigeria is still basically a conservative society.

Why FG instead of NAIJA or Nigeria? I mean the title.
The case has reached the holy of holy and you guys still talking making a movie about it or not.
Five years imprisonment is a joke. Naija here we go! Cautionary statement would rather be better than this. This is just something to reeled this people up and it will be a major issue. Latest 3yrs they going to re-ammend that bill.
I dont know a single one of those passing the law that doesnt have sexual infidelity. Obasanjo himself King of Adulterer. Monkey calling Baboon hairy. No pun intended.

Not surprised. Wey them never even fully accept heterosexual intercourse b4 marriage in some parts of the country na him dem go condone homosexual marrriage??..I think Not.

Naija should be more concerned about banning corruption.. Homo marraige should be the least of thier problems.. If man wants to marry man or vice versa.. that is between them and God.. No one respects the law in Nigeria so what makes them think that they can ban anything.. You cant ban anything in a lawless country.. hssss

I doubt if this is gon be a major issue. 99% of naija don't believe in same sex marriage. If the federal government did not say anything, citizens will. Nigeria is not a conservative country. We can't be that westernized. How you go call Obasanjo King of Adultry when you know damn well is legal to take more than one wife and have as many girlfriends as you want in our society. What is that have to with same sex marriage.
