New Immigration Bill: Hassleless Green Cards
Anyone know about the new Bill by COngress? That will give 3 years temp residency to immgrants who have worked and paid taxes for at least 2 years in USA?
And after the 3 years, would give them Green Card?
Well, people, make una pray well well, make E work O. Because I am just thinking that most guys would now be free of marrying akata for kpali and all the mental issues they go through with akata women that make them come out to threat Naija women badly cos of their nasty experiences with akatas!
And that would reduce akata source of income too in a way. And also return our naija men's Ego and pride back intact. 6 years to get Green Card, hmm, I still think its better than all the money and psychological stresses people go through following other routes!
I still shudder each time I remember the story of a girl in Dallas, who left her job at Diamond Bank in Naija to come to Dallas and ended up amrrying this akata guy that looked OK, she paid him of course, but down the line, he stopped working and she had to start taking care of him and his mama. And he made her move in to his mamas house. Poor Igbo girl! And the guy would actually bring his different huchie girls into their room, lock her up in the closet and after doing the girls (with her listening et al) would bring her out to use her too! Interview dates? He made himself scarce!! I never heard what became of her after I left Dallas. I hope she survived it! And didnt contact no AIDS or stuff like dat and hope to heavens she at least got the Green kpali! Dang!! Poeple suffer O!

Damn, what a jerk that guy was. And poor girl for thinking she had to go through all that ish, when really she didn't, there were several other options available to her. And while I agree that many of these arrangements have been disastrous, I must also state that I've personally observed many more in which turned out just fine. I've even met several AfAm women and men in whom actually do this as a business of some sort.
Very professional and experienced with their work in this situation, and end up making the "consultant's" experience very easygoing. And their are alot more of these folks out there, whom are simply out to fill a profitable void and little else. It's all about finding the right clients. Financially strapped college students, make the best clients. Agree to pay his/her school fees or a decent percentage of them, and it's a done deal, with little or no strings attached.
On another note; I've recently met an AfAM/Naija couple whom had met through an arrangement like that, yet over the years of going through the situation became really close friends and they ended up staying together, having kids and living a happy marriage of 12 years. So really it all comes down to taking the time to find the right partner to help you out.

When are West and Central African nations going to offer AfAm, Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Central Americans and Afro- South Americans non hassle, instantaneous citizenship rights?? Being that their ancestors came from that region, ((forcibly))... non the less, these descendents should be given the right to be citizens of any of the nations in this area of the continent free of charge and with no hassles. A policy like that would go a long way in drawing in well needed foreign expertise and finances over time. Despite what I know many of you believe; I think that alot (millions) of descendents would in due time take full advantage of this well over do offer.
Especially as both west and central Africa continue to go through a phenomenal growth spurt, economically and socially. Many descendant folks in the Americas feel trapped. A well supported and managed offer like the one explained could give that black farmer in Colombia, being threatened by drug cartels roaming the rural areas taking peoples land and killing them on many occasions... the release to say, "to hell with this, I don't have to take this anymore. I'm going to Gabon, and try my luck there.
Or that Afro-Brazilian engineer who cant seem to get a job cause of his dark skin and the nations deep hatred for darkies, despite the fact of that the nation is noted for having the worlds second largest black population, the security to say, "To hell with this. I'm going to Cameroon or Angola to see what I can manage over there."..

Na by force to live abroad? To me everyone has a choice and if you decide to marry AKATA for green card... honey, get ready to live with whatever the outcome would be. Nothing is sacred anymore.. and we all pay the price 4 it.
In the end everything still boils down to bad leadership back home. If things good 4 naija who go dey put imself thru dis crap? Abeg, somebody sign me up for the REVOLUTION to finish all these corrupt leaders. We need a new dawn to enthrone the Ribadus, the Akunyili, Utomis etc

Abeg ask me. I am honestly disgusted by the story. She let herself be used. Nobody should blame the man.

Speaking of marrying Afams for papers, my best friend who moved to yankee last year just got married to one recently. Me i was like for what? meanwhile this girl already has a first degree, a PGD and profeesional qualification in naija, the guy wey she marry didnt go to college and doesnt even have a job. She was telling me that she likes him cos he's goodlooking, na im i ask her whether na looks we go chop? I honestly feel bad that she has to go that route cos it's not like she was desperate when she was in naija, she had a good job here and she just wanted to live abroad by all means. I'm really worried about her cos i've heard a lot of tales of woes from other women who went down that route.

i heard they are working on it but i think Ghana is the only country that grant AFAM non hassle citizenship. I hope it works out maybe we can all work together to benefit the whole black race
