I'm sorry, I'm an uncomprehending Schmuck, so I couldn't quite understand what you were asking!! If you are asking what my question was, it's this:

Question # 2

Do you think the government's plan to clean up the transportation mess in Lagos has been working?? Things like building new main corridors, expanding and refurbishing others, eliminating roadside hawkers and piles of refuse from the side of major roadways. Dispersing folks who operate business under flyovers and other bridgeways, eliminating tankers from parking their trucks on the expressways, and decommissioning the organization that was set up to monitor the state's roads and insure their safety ( forgot the name of it), in the place of a new joint federal/state system to insure sanctity on the state's roads.

It's about damn time, I say. Though upon looking up information on the project, I keep seeing references to the scale of the projects as being little more than a metro line.JUST ONE LINE?? To service the entirety of Lagos, a MEGA MATROPOLIS OF (((15 MILLION PEOPLE)))???

I automatically thought to myself that such a situation cant be true. New York City has the largest metro rail system in the world, yet only has about half the amount of people as Lagos does, a city in which will reach a the very least a mammoth amount of nearly ((25Mill)) inhabitants by the year 2020. WHAT DA HELL IS ONE METRO LINE GONNA DO TO HELP THE TRAFFIC SITUATION IN THE CITY???.... (((NOTHING))!!! That's what!!

That city needs a full scale underground and elevated interconnecting, full scale metro system in which will service the entire Metropolis, and in fact all of the nation's major cities should be in the planning stage now... for developing networks of their own, especially Enugu, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Abuja, whos populations are soring off the hook, so to say. But back to Lagos now. Dose anyone know if it's actually true that the planed metro system will be comprised of just one line through the city?

@ Highlights, I don't really think you are a friend of the masses. You want them to go on a full scale underground and elevated interconnecting in LAGOS NIGERIA!!! How often do you think people will suffocate because of power failure? My friend let them try the one line metro first and see if they can handle it.
I remember that the former governor of Lagos state (LKJ) started the project in 1982 or there about, and it was later abandoned by the military when they took over in 1983. So if Tinubu want to start it he better hurry up because 2007 is just few months away and the next governor may abandon the project again.

It's been due to LASTMA's total failure to handle its duties properly that it was eliminated by the government when it decided to step in and play a more direct role in whipping Lagos into shape, by 2007.

Expect to see a rapid change in the amount of road construction going on all around Lagos this year.. But it wont be just on the roads that such massive showing of works is expected to preside, in that increased, federal aided, development is also expect to solidly hit the schools, hospitals, ports and many other entities in the Mega Metropolis. The city will be turned into like one big construction site this year. But hey, talk is cheap. Let's wait and see what happens.

@ highlights again: You were wrong on this LASTMA story, (don't believe all you read, but try and get closer to peeps on both sides to know what was going on. LASTMA was not a failure rather the contrary, you ask Bluestoking (that resides in Lagos) she will confirm this that when LASTMA was handling the road transport problems in Lagos, things were going perfectly. No more hold ups or died cars on roads etc, traffic jam was of the past until when FERMAR (or what was it called) came into the game and collapse whole structures.

When went wrong was a power tussle between AD and PDP; the story goes this way that one day a chieftain of PDP was on his way to his daughters wedding in Lagos, because he was late he drove through one way, LASTMA caught him and stopped him, although he tried to explain the reason behind his disobedience but LASTMA guy booked him (tow his car) the said PDP chieftain called the state governor to help him out but the governor says “no ignorance in law".
The said chieftain missed the wedding and it went back to Abuja to complain about his ordeals in the hand of LASTMA and the state governor. Because of this they came up with FERMAR and declared LASTMA illegal.
Ask peeps in Lagos the first month that FERMAR was installed, there were lots of clashes between them and LASTMA. At last they federal government declared LASTMA Illegal.
That was the story I had from reliable sources from both State and Federal side.

Humm, interesting!! Thanks for that inside scoop, but believe it or not... I was actually thinking of FERMAR instead of LASTMA when I was writing that post. On a previous post, I couldn't remember the name of the organization, and Blue mentioned LASTMA, and being too lazy to check to see if that was actually the one I was thinking of... I just went along with it. I'd bet she did that to me on purpose... ..... Just joking, Blue!!

I dont know what led to the FERMA and LASTMA crisis, but all i know is that when FERMA came to Lagos they just constituted a serious nuisance.

BTW, Benin you were not talking about FERMA's failure here, rather you were implying that LASTMA was failing in it's duty. Admit it.

Yeah, I guess you can say my wife is Igbo, yet only to the point in which one can also state that African Americans are Africans, ya feel me?? In other words; while her blood may be that of the Igbo, most everything else about here screams pure African-American, through and through!!

And, abeg the Zodiacs aren't "jibberish"!! They're very accurate showings of human character. Don't be hattin on me cause I'm da Ish!!
