Yesterday, I read in the newspaper about a Nigerian girl who was raped and sodomized by an American soldier in Italy. The soldier was sentenced to a measly 5 years instead of the maximum of 8yrs because it was argued that he was suffering from desensitization caused by the Iraqi war!!!!

Am I surprised? NO, no really because this is the same country that ruled that if during a rape, a woman help the attacker shed her clothes..e.g if she were wearing tight jeans then its considered consensual.

What I want to know is what is the Nigeria government doing about this matter? If that was an American girl raped by a Nigerian officer do you know what will happen? Every newspaper and radio station would carry the news and called for consequences? Where are the officials that are supposed to stand up for our rights? Where is the Nigerian Ambassador to Italy on this matter?
