A 70-year-old-man was at the weekend caught committing adultery with the wife of a member of the outlawed Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) at Foko area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Nigerian Tribune learnt that the OPC member (name withheld) hurried back home around 11.30 p.m from guard duty and caught his 29-year-old wife and the old man in the act on his bed.
Apparently incensed by the old man’s effrontery, the husband, whose age was put at 30, was said to have pounced on him, slammed him on the bare floor in his bedroom and broke his legs in the process.
A source in the area who craved for anonymity told the Nigerian Tribune that his colleague’s shout of “thief” drew the attention of his neighbours only to meet the naked old man in pain while his lover burst into tears after residents had prevented her from fleeing from the scene.
“Residents in this area knew that he had on several occasions accused his wife of adultery while on more than two occasions, we’ve had cause to settle misunderstanding bordering on his wife’s alleged adulterous ways,” the source said.
