20 yrs since Dele Giwa's assassination!

20 years already? Wow Pesin do dey grow

I'd like people's thoughts on the whole Dele Giwa-IBB saga please!

Very topical in these times considering that IBB could very well be a "Democratically" elected president of Nigeria come 2007, May it not happen!

Did Dele Giwa try to make a deal with the Babangidas, that got him killed?

Overall he was a great investigative journalist, so please share your thoughts!

yeah time really flies we were very little then and me i didn't really understand what was happening and things were going so fast

it was some weeks back my elder brothers friend visited my family and somehow the topic came up. He spoke about Gloria Okon because he knew her so well they had attended high school together at illorin and where friends till her death ..... She was a carrier for that family (ibb's wife) which actually started back in her college days apparently giwa wanted to unfold the story that Gloria was alive Contrary to what we were told and in the process got killed ..... (she was their agent)

He spoke at lenght on this topic so many other things i wouldn't want to go into and it was like hearing from the horses mouth. A young girls used poisoned and cut short at her prime..... there is really nothing hidden under the sun many days for the wicked but one day God will visit

ibb to rule us again... never ....yes kikis may it not happen

Yes oh, never again...AMEN! I was also very young, but my much older siblings have told me a lot of tales. GLORIA OKON was the central tragic figure in that entire NEWSWATCH/DELE GIWA/IBB debarcle.

I think Mr Giwa uncovered a bombshell, but then he tried to be smart and play both sides rather than just publishing the story...I too have heard the tales that I also can't mention here!!!!

One day God will surely visit on this one!!!!!!

BTW, on the whole IBB thing, check out this article in the Nigerian Village Sqaure titled "IBB and his Illusions"(See link below):

Enjoy!

kikis this article is very remarkable full of meaning but come to think of it nothing good has ever been written about the man ibb and even his paid chairleaders as mentioned by the article have not being able to put up a stud piece writing for their master.. we'had other head of states but why is ibb and abacha's term questionable ... . Ibb remains a failure... i love that piece and would e mail it to my close pals

Thanks Kikis
