Nigerian professor to be jailed in US - For putting pepper in son’s eyes, genitals

A Nigerian-born professor at the Alcorn State University, Mississippi, in the United States, is currently facing sentencing in the Hinds County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to charges of child abuse.


Festus Oguhebe, a Professor of Business Studies and father of six children, who had initially faced a five-count charge after his arrest in March 2005, was accused of abusing his 11-year-old son by placing him in a bathtub, putting hot pepper in his eyes, on his ***** and buttocks. He was also said to have tied the boy’s hands behind his back and covered his body with ants.


According to records filed by the Hinds District Attorney, Jacquelin Purnell, Oguhebe’s offences included whipping and striking the child in such a manner as to cause grievous bodily injury.......

Was he temporary insane to have done that?!!

i see hes nigerian born and breed,i am sure he grew up in the village with his parents excersing jungle justice on him and then he transported his ideas to america.........thats the only explanation i hve for what he did to his son..thats if the report is accurate!
i hope after he spends time in jail he will renew his mode of punishment.

He's crazy! Imagine he's even justifying his claim by saying that's how its done in Igboland. Which Igboland? My parents are igbos and they never put pepper in my eyes or any crazy thing like that. He's even a proffessor for goodness sake!

The darn professor thinks he is still in "primitive" Nigeria...how can one do such to their own child. There certainly are other ways to discipline a child but quite frankly, that's abuse and he gets what he was asking for...
