Nigerian professor to be jailed in US - For putting pepper in son’s eyes, genitals

A Nigerian-born professor at the Alcorn State University, Mississippi, in the United States, is currently facing sentencing in the Hinds County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to charges of child abuse.
Festus Oguhebe, a Professor of Business Studies and father of six children, who had initially faced a five-count charge after his arrest in March 2005, was accused of abusing his 11-year-old son by placing him in a bathtub, putting hot pepper in his eyes, on his ***** and buttocks. He was also said to have tied the boy’s hands behind his back and covered his body with ants.
According to records filed by the Hinds District Attorney, Jacquelin Purnell, Oguhebe’s offences included whipping and striking the child in such a manner as to cause grievous bodily injury.......
