Chris Okotie, the presidential candidate

His agenda
http://www.freshdemocraticparty.com/agenda.htm

His manifesto
http://www.freshdemocraticparty.com/freshManifesto.pdf

His destiny and purpose
http://www.freshdemocraticparty.com/dialogue_1.htm

Other trivia:
He is multilingual(speaks his native language, pidgin, yoruba and igbo)

He runs a healthcare system in Lagos similar to the one in the United States for memebers and non-members fo his church? For a token monthly fee, you get health care services for your entirere family in the participating hospitals for free. This works like the health insurance in the United States

He was close friends with MKO Abiola and donated N1,000,000.00 to Abiola for the June 12 electon?

(Unknown to many)The late Bimbo Odukoya and her husband,Anslem Madubuko and a host of other Christian leaders in Naija today, were trained by him

I read his manifest. In fact, I read it thouroghly. He has an idea what is wrong with the country, but I don't think a guy like Chris can run Nigeria. Not now anyway. He is too committed to one religion. Nigeria needs a guy that no one knows his religion. I mean, I don't see a Nigeria where the Hausas submits themselves to being governed by a Reverend. We are still very far from such a day. We need a quick fix for now...you know, we need a completely unknown without a baggage. Sorry Chris.

and what is wrong with the hausas not subjecting themselves to be ruled by a xtian. what of the uncountable years xtians have allowed the mallams to rule them even when they know that such are not even intellectually qualified to do so. i disagree with you view very strongly.

I didn't say anything was wrong with the Hausas being ruled by a christian. I'm just saying it's unrealistic. If you don't believe me, run it by some Hausa guy & see what he thinks.
BTW, a lot of christians weren't too happy about being ruled by the Hausas for such a long time either. Eh! I'm just keeping it real, dat's all.

that is the biz of the hausas. they are not in the majority anyway and the north is even not as homogineous as we are made to believe. most parts of the north are filled with xtians except the core northern parts like sokoto, kano, jigawa, zamfara, kebbi and kastina. very few ones indeed. all the lies that the hausas are in the majority and are mostly muslims are just what they are, pure lies concorted for them by the colonial rulers in order to compesate them for being the most submissive of the nigerian tribes during colonial rule. xtians weren't too happy about being ruled by the hausas, but were ruled by them anyway for centuries. that alone is enough point to floor their arguement.

I think Dsampler meant that Hausas would see an attempt to Christianize Nigeria if chris Okotie gets in as President being a pastor. They would argue that eventhough the North dorminated rulership of the country,an Imam or religious head was never president or Head of state. It goes further in buttressing the impact of religion on Nigerian politics.
Religion is so vital an instrument that Buhari was quoted as saying that he would install Sharia in the Nigerian constitution, register Nigeria for OIC membership and so on.He was using that medium if true,to appeal for muslim votes while pitching the Christians on OBJ at that time(2003).Though okotie is yet to sing along the line of Christianizing Nigeria, people would believe that it is only natural for a pastor as president to,do just that.
On the issue proper,Chris may have the knowledge of the problem of Nigeria but does he have what it takes to fix the problem? If one would use previous experience/s as a yardstick for measuring compitence for being Nigerian president, which one would be used for Chris? Is it a one hit record album or running a hip pentirascal oh sorry, penticostal church?
Folks we are talking about running a Federation with more potentials than smooth skills in tithe collection!!
VOTE REASONABLY OR DIE MISERABLY!!

with God, anything is possible! and if you believe, you shall truely recieve. Let Chris wherever he is hold unto what he believes. Only God knows the best for us and being a man after God's heart, God could just turn the table round to pave way for him. If Abiola could garner such much votes that cuts accross ethnicity in Nigeria, then anything could just happen and religious beliefs don't always decide it all. Finally, unlike Buhari that presented himself like one religion advocate and religionized his presidential ambition, chris has not done anything of such.

Sure with God all things are possible. My position remains that people would believe that a pastor would bring on programmes that would promote the religion for which he is a pastor. That he is yet to talk on that line is not much an arguement knowing Nigeria like we do.
The Abiola instance you gave is a marvellous turn-around in analysing Nigeria voting pattern i must admit.Infact,it was a muslim-muslim ticket with Abiola and Kingigbe but,Nigerians voted for them.Maybe the charisma of Abiola had a special impact on that but God had a different plan.

I despise the way he went about mudslinging Pastor Chris Oyakilome in the media with so much false information .

You dont do that to a fellow clergy man !!!

Let him stick to preaching and releasing hit songs ...when he is ready to stop sporting a Jheri curl maybe Ill take him seriously !!!

I am surprised he is running again after the orobo wayo he play for 2003. He say na God tell him say make him run for the president and that it was for one party(i can't remember the name now). After losing the primaries in that party he later started saying that God told him to go to this other party. I don't support all those jibberish he is not precise.
Well as far as i am concerned he himself is very unstable so he need to become stable before trying to run for the president chair.
