According to the Chairman and Chief Executive of the agency, Alhaji Ahmed Giade, the transfer of the suspected baron, was sequel to security reports available to the agency. Giade told National Mirror, at the public destruction of N50 million,20 feet container load of N14.2 tonnes of cocaine at the NDLEA, Badagry command, last Monday that there was confirmed security report that Akindele Oluwadamilare, Ikumoluyi, better known as Ile Eru, was on his way out of Ikoyi prisons through jail break which he would instigate inside the prisons. It was learnt that the suspect who was influential was about using his money and street wise instincs to cause havoc at the prisons to pave way for his escape.

At his home on Evans Street, Lagos Island when NDLEA operatives wanted to effect his arrest they reportedly met brick wall as his boys violently resisted. The operatives were chased away by thousand of street urchins suspected to be on his pay roll.
Until March, 2006 when he was picked up in a renewned on slaught to arrest him, Ile-Eru was a free man.It was based on his alleged plot to escape that perhaps prompted his transfer.
