So sad for this lady and her kids. Mabe now that they killed her their problems will be over. But God will judge them.

I have carefully read NR's reaction to this gruesome murder and feel so angry with what became a wasted live of a very hard working woman.
NTB,castration of the pepertrators would suggest that murderers kill with their JT.Maybe you meant they should be incarcerated!!
There are lots of loose ends that could lead to the killers.If i would be a cop and this case comes to me,I would look into the following;
Moganbo for starters is a deadly "businessman".Though Ifeoma's father, he is known to have an itchy finger for money no matter how.His call for a "family meeting" and what happened after,suggests a distractive decoy.My suspicion would envelope him in an accomplice status.Otherwise,why didn't the robbers at least shoot him when he faked a resistance initially?
Nonso is the product of the street.Though Ifeoma's step-brother,he is the clue to the actual killers.This conclusion steems from the return of his mobile phone immediately after the incident.The killers are freinds of his from onitsha.Prime link to this puzzle i would say.
Ifeoma's estranged husband knows a thing or two.I would as a cop,frisk the living daylight out of his dumb brain.Threats of and eventual shots in Ifeoma's private part would convey my convinction.He might not be wholly involved but,appearing in an arranged Aba meeting to see the children is too fast a coincidence.Couldn't he at least join the children he never contributed in their upkeep to muorn the death of their mother?An idiot who loves honey but hates bee that produces honey!!
Ifeoma's international businessman uncle has a hand in the cheoreographed programmes that took her life.I would drain him of valuable energy as a cop untill he burges with explicit info.His quick demand for social security number,stories of SUV in Owerri today and the other still in Cotounou and the dutiful exhibitions of his wife later,combine to rope him in my view.
In all folks,we cannot justify running away from Nigeria.Things like this happens all the time,folks in the La,CAL area know what happened to President of Enugu State indigenes last December.He was also on vacation with his wife and children who were coming to Nigeria for the first time.His robber step-brother arranged and got him assasinated.
My concern is the trauma the children would bear for the rest of their lives,the fear and hatred they could feel of and about Nigeria and Nigerians.These things bother me a lot as our generation seem to be breaking the typical African family circle thingy.
God have mercy.

How can one's own family plot such a gruesome murder? I am finding it very hard to believe that a loved one will go to such length all in the name of dollars...call me naive or stupid, but i cannot understand it all.

The boy was set to sign a multi million dollar football contract in the US and they nearly ruined his legs, heard that some arrests have been made and that from some confessions fingers are definitely pointing inwards. Cos they knew about her arrival, her one night stay at sheraton and her travel home. We have not heard the last of this story for when God wants to kill the wicked He firsts make them mad. Mogambo brings okija back to thespotlight, yes that is where they all come from

They should be castrated for shooting her three times in her private.

Slain American Returnee: Her Brother Paid Us To Kill Her - Suspects

The Police high command on Friday in Abuja paraded three suspects alleged to be responsible for the gruesome murder of Mrs. Ifeoma Okanume, two days after her return from the United States of America after 29 years of sojourn.

Parading the suspects, the acting Inspector General of the Police, Mr. Mike Okiro, who described the incident as a sad case of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and murder, vowed that the police would explore new dimensions in dealing with criminals in the society.

One of the principal suspects, Mr. Azuka Ochia, 17, who confessed to have taken part in the killing, revealed that Okanume’s brother, Mr. Nonso Nwabuba, now at large, arranged for the killing of the sister.

Other suspects paraded were Kinsley Nwanachiri and Aloysius Amawuru Ejikeme. Okiro disclosed that two of the suspects were killed by the police in the exchange of gun battle during the robbery operation while the other suspect, Chibuzo Awkuzu, and Nwabuba were still at large.

He said the police investigation has revealed that Nwabuba was allegedly aided by his elder brother, Mr. Udoka Nwabuba, to flee to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The IGP said “we have deployed the services of Interpol to arrest the fleeing suspects. “We shall track them down and bring them to justice.”

@Audrey,please understand that blood relationship has been pushed to the background in the latest display of greed for money in our societies.Infact,we that still hold such relationship high in our dealings are now seen as obsolete lots.Stories like this one is common these days.One just need to pray that it doesn't hapen to him or her.
