Motherland, you are no longer a fool! You are seeing the light little by little! So much so, that you are drawing your children back home!
Gone are the days when your children had no plans to make it home to your bossom.
Now your young, your beautiful, your talented, your educated, your handsome, your gifted, your rich, your poor, your enterprenuer, your student.........are all seeking your shores again!
When would anyone have imagined that one of your under 30s would pack up his business here, leave his million dollar home, sell off his porsche cayenne, his 7-series BMW, his E-55, just to open an office in your capital Abuja?!! Hah! I have seen those that returned to your sands because they were tired of living on paychecks here, but to see your prosperous heading home is a wonder!! That simply means HOME IT IS!!
Even an African-American Pastor just today said he has started building a house in Lagos!!! Hah!!
Everywhere one turns, your children are identifying with you! Even those that have never set foot on you by virtue of being born in the Diaspora are all identifying with 9ja! haba! "I REP NAIJA" they call it! I have lost count of groups on Facebook all identifying with Nigeria. I have lost count of shows and events been done in your honor!! Even by those that cant even speak any of your 287 languages! .
In conversations, everyone talks about moving back to Naija finally! No one says they will only move back when they win the lottery!!
And even family members are begging their children in the diaspora to return home!! Educational degrees attained in the Diaspora are having values once again!
I love you Motherland and I am glad I am among those that are moving back to your shores again! I am glad that I will once again live where I dont have to worry about bills bills bills!
Oh Nigeria, all of a sudden you are now a pride to her citizens abroad!
Happy 47th Birthday Nigeria. I love you and I hunger for your mosquito bites and the Boli and Ekpa at the junction where I can buy me oranges that were not grown with chemicals and pesticides. Where I can eat farm-grown and natural foods with no preservatives!

Abi O! my mum say she dey buy non-refundable ticket! And knowing her, it may be a one-way ticket! she thinks I work too hard here....but, fashion designing is a 24-hour job! Even when I am sleeping, I am dreaming up sketches and patterns!
Anyway, I have made up my mind, I am moving to Naija, and operating from there. Good thing the TV show has launched my Fashion there in Naija ahead of me, abi? Naija, here I come! Where there is abundance of apprentices and staff to excute my styles without me lifting a finger! And house helps to clean, wash, cook, and all I got to do is sketch designs and ..........
Cant wait to change my zip code!

Independence Day Celebration at Embassy in DC
Ok, just got back in a little while ago.
Men!!!! naijans are taking this love for country too far naw O!!
There was no standing room at the 47th Independence Day Celebration at the Embassy here in DC! Parking was crazy! And you know we naijans, we packed in front of all the embassies from the main road -Van Ness, round the whole International Drive and Lane! We even parked by the water hydrants! Dont ask me why the embassy did not open their parking space for people! Mi, o mo!
Whites, Asians, hispanics, Africans, African-Americans were all well represented! It was amazing! I wish I had dressed a bit more sha! . I turned up there looking simply as per I went from work! I didnt want to go even, but with the phone calls and the arrival of the IV, I had no option than to go Rep ma Country! (Pictures on Trendyafrica.com).
The music was goooooood! The interaction was superb! Saw lots of friends and business acquitances.
And one could tell there was a change of power in naija! because there was more kaftans and Hausa caps and women in shawls and wrappers (if you know what I mean....without mentioning sharia......<cough>) Anyway, I didnt mind it! Heck! I speak hausa! And I felt so much at home! In my 6+ years in USA, I have never been in a room with so many hausa speakers! And dang!! I am getting rusty in my hausa due to lack of practice! And I need it for my move to Abuja O!
THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE EVENING...
This cute looking babe passes me, I was trying to balance myself on my stiletto heels with my wine glass that was spilling cos someone bumped into my elbow......and then I heard in the softest voice ever " I KNOW YOU!!!"...and I was like, OK...... <thinking in my head: what have I done now O! Na who be dis one again?!> Adn truly, she looked very familiar!!! So I told her, "I KNOW YOU TOO"!
She asked, " Govt college ,........?" <me is thinking govt gini?!>, but my mouth says no! She then asks "University of Jos?" <Now, that is the magic word! > And say " YES"!!! And she says "Psychology", and I say "Psychology too!!!".....
NEXT THING was us shrieking!!! I finally remembered her!!!! Wow!! What are the odds........bumping into a friend you have not seen in the last 13 years at a function at the Nigerian Embassy! And she has been living about 15 minutes away from you in the past 4 years!!!??
Need I say the rest of the evening was AWESOME!!! Meeting all her friends and she meeting mine, picture-taking all over the place......it was FUN!!! When her friends asked her how she recognized me, she said I have not changed in physique one bit! OK people, is that a good or bad? That I have not changed physically in look and shape for 13 years?! Hmmmmm.........
To my lost but found Kogi State friend!! God bless you! You are exactly what I need round about now! There is still a God that answers prayers! The networking through her in 2 hours is amazing! I am soooooooo glad she is not another typical Igbo babe, I for RUN!!!!! hee hee hee! I am allergic to Igbo chicks!! Unless they were born and brought up outside Igboland! - Sue me!!

Berlin:nigerian Ambassadors Residence
It was a full house of Freinds of Nigeria and Nigerians alike in the Ambassadors residence located at the high breed area of Darlem in Berlin-Germany last night.Who is who amongst Nigerians in Germany were present with a couple of diplomats from other countries.
Over here, bcos Nigeria shares the same national day with China, the diplomatic community agreed that each country would be celebrating theirs bi-annually.That would mean that if this year is low key for Nigeria and a big feast for China, next year would be the reverse. However,as miliki people,Nigeria is always celebrating and this years was low-key though i did not see it like that.Music was at full blast and food enough for the unsuspecting Europeans to eat themselves red bcos of pepper.Chai,i saw one lady almost crying with her tongue stuck out and all red in the face.Imagine, common fish pepper soup made her cry
The new Ambassador is a carrer diplomat and is the best thing to happen to the Nigerian community in Germany now.He served previously in Austria and is from Langtang in Plateau state. His speach was that of hope for Nigeria and an era of good governance.I felt proud being Nigeria a very, rare occurence i must admit.
I share the the optimism folks
