Multi award winning super star, 2-Face Idibia was shot in Lagos yesterday evening by armed bandits. The incident occured between 9 and 10 p.m. The award-winning star was shot in the thigh by armed bandits along the Airport Road while he was driving home from Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, after arrival from London, where he recently bagged 'Best African Act' at the Mobo Awards.

He was then rushed to an undisclosed hospital in the Isolo area of Lagos, where he is receiving treatment.

It would be recalled that gunmen suspected to be armed robbers attacked 2-Face Idibia in his Festac residence two years ago.

The problem is bigger than Fashola, it is a fundamental problem that needs to be solved in more different ways than one. As long as there is growing unemployment, while our leaders flaunt their ill gotten wealth in our faces and as long as Lagos remain as big and as congested as it is there is no steming the crime rate. But then; Tuface, pele, biko, na part of the pletty nonsence be that. U go survive!

Hip hop music star, Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface, is currently on danger list at Cedar Group Hospital, 202 Road, B Close, Festac Town, Lagos, following an attack on him by unidentified gunmen last night. P.M.News learnt that the award winning artiste was attacked at about 8.30pm at Cele bus stop, along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway on his way home from the
Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja. He had just arrived the country from London.

Sources said the shots fired by the gunmen hit Tuface on his thigh and he was rushed to the hospital where Doctors immediately wheeled him into the theatre to save his life.

As at the time of going to press, doctors had removed about 22 pellets from his thigh and he is currently battling for life at the hospital.

Ifeanyi Orji a.k.a. Odogwu the elder brother of Faze, a member of the re-united Plantashun Boyz musical group who drove the red Honda Accord (Bullet) car also had his left hand bruised after the encounter with the gunmen believed to be robbers.

A member of the Plantashun Boyz, Augustine Ahmedu a.k.a. Black Faze blamed the attack on the state of insecurity in the country. “The government should be blamed for this because there was no light in the area where Tuface was attacked,” he said.

When our News Crew called at the hospital this morning, our reporter was prevented from seeing him as he was said to be under observation by the Doctors.

Some of his fans and sympathisers have besieged the hospital to see how their music idol is faring following a rumour early this morning that Tuface had died, following the attack.

A detachment of policemen from the nearby area ‘E’ Police Command in Festac who provided security for him throughout the night had a hectic time controlling the crowd.

This is not the first time Tuface would have a close shave with death. Two years ago, he cheated death when armed robbers invaded his FESTAC home and shot him.

I don't understand this growing trend of excessive violence accompanying robberies these days. Fine, it's almost understandable that many are disillusioned/despondent with the circumstances they find themselves in. To get involved with robbery is bad enough in the first instance, but aiming to maim and kill is just unexcusable.
