RAWALPINDI, Pakistan - Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated Thursday in a suicide attack that also killed at least 20 others at the end of a campaign rally, aides said.
"The surgeons confirmed that she has been martyred," Bhutto's lawyer Babar Awan said.

A party security adviser said Bhutto was shot in neck and chest as she got into her vehicle to leave the rally in Rawalpindi near the capital Islamabad. A gunman then blew himself up.

May her soul rest in peace.
It was always a risk going back to Pakistan especially since the terrorists made it clear they were going to kill her if she returned. In addition, they also made an unsuccessful attempt on her life shortly after her return, which resulted in the death of over a hundred people. I'm very surprised she was brave enough to go out and campaign. She should have suspended her public appearances with immediate effect, especially having knowledge that the terrorists were using suicide bombers to get her.

They made sure they got her this time. Not only did the bomber shoot her, he also blew himself up next to Bhutto. The Pakistani military have succeeded in wiping out the Bhutto family. Sad! Very sad Indeed!

..dude..they forced her to cancel a similar rally in the same city weeks ago because of 'security fears',and then she proceeds to have one today anyway....so how can u assume the military did anythng?

..oh...I see... ...what really made me mad was how the US was behind Musharraf in their fight to catch Osama...and then diplomatically turned against him in the name of democracy when Bhutto showed up on the scene....and making her look like a saint in the process...and she's not...
