For complaining that her husband refused to play and have sex with her, a housewife, Mrs. Linda Odok, was battered by her husband and she has lost her seven-month old pregnancy. P.M.News gathered this morning that the woman is currently on danger list at a private hospital in Ogun State.

Her husband, Mr. Patrick Odok, 37, P.M.News gathered, became annoyed at her constant nagging and beat her to a pulp on Boxing Day.

Mrs. Odok, 26, mother of two and her husband, a native of Ogoja in Cross River State, had been married for four years and reside at 12, Oremeta Street, Ayinla Bus Stop, Agbado Crossing, Ogun State.

Investigations revealed that Patrick on Boxing Day, abandoned his pregnant wife and children at home and went to a beer joint to enjoy himself.

This, however, infuriated his wife who accused him of abandoning her and the children to drink beer.

According to Mrs. Odok, “what kind of a man would beat his wife like this just because I challenged him for abandoning me and my children on Boxing Day?

“I expected him to play with me and do what husband and wife should do together since he knew I was seven-month pregnant. Does he want me to look for another husband? He is lacking in this respect.

''Because of his behaviour, I packed my load out of his house to stay with my parents. When he came back, he met my load outside with the children and when he asked why, I accused him of abandoning me and neglecting his matrimonial duties. Then he started beating me.

“Landlords and co-tenants pleaded with him and he did not listen to them.

“I was bleeding seriously and I fainted. Later, I was rushed to a nearby hospital. Right there on my hospital bed, he was demanding for the N60,000 he kept with me.''

The husband, however, denied all the allegations, claiming that she fell from a motorcyle (Okada).

“I regret my action and I promise to turn a new leaf and perform my matrimonial duties,” he stated

As at the time of filing this report, the woman is still battling to stay alive at a private hospital in Ogun State.

reminds me of a friend of mine, when she was in the hospital in labour, and right before she was wheeled into surgery for an emergency c-section, her husband was picking a fight with her infront of me and our other friend who was in the room with them, he called her all kinds of ewu, and b*****h, and all because she asked me to take a picture of her and she didn't realize he had been taking pictures of her as well.

and then, when she was wheeled out of surgery, right after their baby was born, he held her hand and asked her "so how are we going to pay the rent?"

i was so flabbergasted.

she said she told him to come and open her belly again and take the money from there.

they're divorced now.

and not ordinary surgery o, c-section to remove his child that she couldn't birth vaginally o, i'm so glad she left him, he was just deranged. while we were waiting with her in her room during labour, he told her the reason she hadn't given birth yet was her fault, that she hadn't been exercising like he told her to do when she was pregnant!

we all laugh about it now when we talk, and find it hard to believe that a human being does these kinds of things.

so back to this article, why is this man NOT in jail? (and i'm pretty much sure her parents and family members will ask her to go back to her husband)

she is in nigeria, i am pretty much sure it will not be easy for her to just leave him. she probably doesn't have enough education to get a job, (well, these days in naija you don't even need an education to get a good job).
