@ bold: Yes, he does.
I feel he owes more to the family that took time and love to raise a muti-racial child in the 60s when racial tensions were at their height in American society. Think about it. His mother's family, not only accepted and embraced their daughter marrying a black man, but an African!! All in the 1960s, when inter-racial marriages were not universally accepted. While his father left, not returning to see his son but once!
Barack, on his own, searched for his roots. Even though he was raised with limited African culture. Or whatever could be found in Hawaii and Thailand, the main places he was raised. To me, that is amazing enough. The shear fact that he embraced that side of his heritage, openly, with no hesitation, especially given his father's abandonment, is a testament to his upbringing and his ethics.
@ blue: Did you read his book, "Dreams Of My Father"? I did. I'm not attacking or picking on you, but many, many people who grew up with a story like his, would only mention their African heritage as a side note, if at all. The sheer fact that he openly embraces Kenya and his Kenyan culture should be enough.
He doesn't need to fix up a village..

If he does any of those things now, America will see him as a Kenyan, and African and he will lose the nomination and Presidency. In short that will be the end of his dream to be a President. Period! He may fix his grand parents’ home, even his entire province after (two 4yr terms) he leaves office. In short for all I care, he should even move back to Kenya after his second term, but not before he leave’s office.

Do you realize that Iowa has never elected and African-American to anything? Let me repeat.... Iowa has never elected an African-American to any political position. Any... Not even dogcatcher... This is deeply significant.
It also shows that your statement is a direct polor opposite of what the prevailing feeling is around this presidential election.
Logically, based on how the presidential campaigns have been going, the words "flimsy" and "unreliable", could not be even remotely used, in any context, with respect to Obama's presidential chances...

He should do no such thing.. Nor is he obligated to anything of the sort.

That was a subtle way of my saying to Sarah, let's face the issue at hand.
I wonder what Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton think of Obama's Victory and success?

Who knows, maybe they have been watching too much episodes of "24".
And who knows maybe Oprah provide them one day free lunch.. lol
Whatever it is, either Hillary or Obama is still going to be a tough call, because Bush and ol' 'Chimney' already messed up the country and it will be a mess cleaning for either Obama or Clinton and neither of them can avoid to make any mess.. Republicans are dirty and they will do anything to sidetrack them. Being first woman or black person in office will require extra caution... any mistake will be stereotype and which might cause problem any person other than a white male to reach the office again.
Seriously, I still believe Hillary got tougher skin to take shit than Obama.. Hillary is very calculating and know to deal with issue strategically...
Anyhow, there are still more debates and this is just the beginning. If Obama ever get the nomination, it will still go into record that Hillary did her best in politics among any first lady that U.S. ever has.
