Actually FM is historically correct... Latinos were enslvaed in some regions but it was not nearly the level of blacks. Also they were not segregated. When blacks were not allowed in sports and other parts of society, Latinos were. Latinos were allowed to freely marry whites. In fact, many many blacks claimed hispanic backgrounds to escape discrimination. This came from the Spanish who freeely mingled with the local Indian population. So in order to not have their offsprings considered lower class, there was a sense that if you had a drop of Spanish blood, you were Hispanic. They were treated less than pure blood Spanish but by far better than enslaved Africans or blacks.
So from a historical racial perspective, being black was always precieved as being below being Latino. This is a fact.. Even till today some of these feelings remain. To marry white is to marry up and to marry black is to marry down. I know... I have Latino relatives.
There is a play called "Platanos and Collard Greens" which explores this divide between blacks and hispanics. And it is deeply rooted in race.

Okay, now this primary elections so far is very scary if you ask me...why? This reason is because at the rate Obama is just winning so far is not because the American people are really ready for the "change" as they so claim but it's that most of the votes are coming from the Republicans themsleves.
The Republicans know that the only way they can get to win the White House again is if they vote for Obama against Hillary. They already know that there is no way they will win the presidential election coming this fall if Hillary turns out to race against them...so their tactics is to vote for the person whom they know would get people all carried away and so when the D-day comes which is the main election in fall people would rather vote for Mccain over Obama...and that is scary.
I just hope that the Democratic super delegates are aware of the Republicans hidden agenda and are planning to do something fast!! if they really want to win the White House.

Hey girl waz up !!
You either register as a Democrat or a Republican ......so its impossible to vote Obama if u are "not" a registered Democrat ...its only at the General elections u can vote warrever candidate !!
A super delegate yesterday stated that he hasnt forgotten what the Clinton's did during their administration ....
If people keep up the tempo he might be able to pull it off ...I too Im becoming a believer slowly and surely ....just cos some of the the states I was weary off are actually routing(sp) for him ...so they might vote him in the privacy of the voting booth ...only time will tell both candidates are trying ...never has an election year been so exciting ...thats for sure !!!

This is completely incorrect. In fact, it is the exact opposite.
And don't take my word for it. Watch CNN or Fox or any news channel on any night and hear that the Republicans WANT to run against Hilary. They feel she is so polarizing that republican voters would rather vote for a weak Republican that Hilary. Plus Obama is the ONLY candidate left that was opposed to the war from the very beginning. A clear choice for voters in the general election against someone like McCain
CNN just had a report on this VERY thing this evening! I'm not kidding. They said Republican voters in Virginia were told to vote for Hilary as in that state primaries are open.

In Massachusetts, Independents (unregistered as they are called here) can also vote in the primaries.
