I would support Hillary Clinton, if i felt she was actually going to washington to bring about fundamental change. I question her so called experience. I don't consider being a first lady at state and national level experience. If it is, then we should be expecting a Laura Bush candidacy pretty soon. I detest her win at all cost attitude or the end justifies the means attitude. As a new generation, let us change the direction this country is headed. Let us recaptutre the American dream. Let us come together as a coalition of Americans. Let us have the audacity to dream big dreams, in a country where all is possible. Let us once again be proud to be Americans. Let us cease this moment and support OBAMA.

BELIEVE. OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT.

Well you think he can create change but he simply cant agree on what to vote on many issues ...he is known to vote "maybe" on many issues ...he reminds me of Kerry.
What is the American dream ???
What does Barack Obama possess...and why hasnt it made an impact on the lives of Black Americans or minorities ?

He is suppose to be our "token" Black president ...isnt that a big leap ...where are our black governors in this country ??? Do they exist ? But we want to see our "own" become president based on charisma ...
I am not convinced about Obama ...Im comfortable with Clinton and she has my vote !!

Hillary is change !

Hillary on Immigration.

Our immigration system is in crisis. The laws we currently have on the books are inadequate and no longer serve our best interests. As a nation, we place a premium on compassion, respect, and policies that help families, but our immigration laws don't reflect that.

Hillary has consistently called for comprehensive immigration reform that respects our immigrant heritage and honors the rule of law. She believes comprehensive reform must have as essential ingredients a strengthening of our borders, greater cross-cooperation with our neighbors, strict but fair enforcement of our laws, federal assistance to our state and local governments, strict penalties for those who exploit undocumented workers, and a path to earned legal status for those who are here, working hard, paying taxes, respecting the law, and willing to meet a high bar.

Hillary strongly believes we need to do more to know who is in our country by securing our borders and ensuring that employers comply with the law against hiring and exploiting undocumented workers. She supports deploying new technology that can help stop the flow of undocumented immigrants into the country and an employer verification system that is universal, accurate, timely, and does not lead to discrimination and abuse by employers.

Along with these changes, Hillary believes we need to repair those broken portions of our immigration system that irrevocably damage families and force citizens and lawful immigrants to choose between their newly adopted country and living with their spouse or children. We have a national interest in fostering strong families. This is why she introduced an amendment during consideration of the immigration reform bill that would have taken steps to protect the sanctity of families. Our American values demand no less.

And Hillary understands that our immigration policies have a direct impact on American workers. She opposes a guest worker program that exploits workers and creates a supply of cheap labor that undermines the wages of U.S. workers. Hillary believes all workers deserve safe conditions and decent wages. She supports an Ag Jobs program, which will keep our agricultural industry vibrant while enabling agricultural workers to receive the fair wages and labor protections they ought to receive.

When Hillary is president, comprehensive immigration reform will be a top priority.

Hillary has advocated for policies to help smooth the transition of legal immigrants once they arrive in the U.S. so that they can add to our economy and culture.

She championed the Legal Immigrant Children's Health Improvement Act, which would give states the option to provide federally funded Medicaid and SCHIP benefits to low-income legal immigrant children and pregnant women.
She wrote the Access to Employment and English Acquisition Act to meet the growing demand for English language courses and other job skills.
She strongly supports the DREAM Act, which provides a path to citizenship through military service or higher education for children who were brought to the U.S. by their parents.
She offered an amendment to make family reunification the guiding principle of our immigration system.

Why didn't Bill Clinton get it done. He was there for eight years.
She is so pro immigrants that she couldn't give a simple yes or no answer to the issue of driver's licenses for illegals. Why? because it was unpopular. OBAMA stood tall and said yes when asked. Hillary Clinton will only actively pursue a comprehensive immigration reform policy, if it's popular to do so. I want a President that is not afraid to stand for what they believe in, even when it is not popular to do so. OBAMA has great ideas and he has a better chance of those ideas becoming reality than a polarizing Hillary Clinton. I support OBAMA not because he's black or his african roots, I support him inspite of that. When I listen to OBAMA i don't feel like an African American, I feel like an American. He does not pursue a racial agenda that's what i like best about him. He promotes an American agenda. We need a new generation of leadership, with new ideas and new ways of doing things. We been doing things the same old way, with same old people. It's time to turn the page. Let's leave the past behind us and look towards the future.

It's funny how people always want to say that Obama will be the 1st Black president, but they fail to realize since when does being Black automatically make you all Black people's representative? Obama recognizes he is Black but he doesn't need only the support of other Blacks. Obama markets himself as the People's President and NOT just a Black's President. It should not be about race but about the message or content of character.

You raise a question what has Obama done or what has he done for minorities? Well just take time and do some research. 1st of all Obama NEVER supported the foolish expensive war in Iraq that your lady Clinton did. Obama has done many levels of grassroot politics in Chicago which if you don't know is a mostly Black city.

What do you mean about Black governors? MA Black governor supports Obama. Anyway it is not necessary to digress from the fact that people want change and that change will NOT come from a Clinton or a Bush. Let Clinton stick with representing NY and fix Wall St since they did do damage to the economy with the mortgage crisis. You say you are comfortable with Clinton well then you really don't want change. Clinton may be a Washington insider but all that 'insiding' has done nothing. I want new blood to shake things up. An insider will just continue the foolishness that is going around.

America is finally realizing that the presidency does not have to passed around to a certain color of person, but that it is time for others to be given a chance.

Here is a list of a few things Obama has done:
(As State Legislator)
sponsored a law enhancing tax credits for low-income workers,
negotiated welfare reform
promoted increased subsidies for childcare
legislation mandating videotaping of homicide interrogations
law to monitor racial profiling by requiring police to record the race of drivers they stopped

(As Senator)
Secure Fence Act 2006
Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act
Coburn-Obama Transparency Act

Change they say is the only constant thing in life. And I dare to say it is also the most difficult to achieve. Because of the fear of the unknown, people tend to be very reluctant in making changes.

In this case: The first black president and the first female president in the history of America, are drastic attempts to a radical change. But do the democrats have what it takes to succeed in such bold steps?

It could eventually turn out to be their weakness, as a chain is as strong as the weakest link. I can't help but see these attempts by the democrats as a tool that will eventually make the republicans more powerful.

Race and gender issues have been with mankind from the beginning, with blacks and women recieving the lesser attentions. Nobody should think a change from that phenomenon will occure like magic. Even in American Politics.
